I was just throwing that out there, since I have a garage full almost to the ceiling in some spots of parts, and no one is buying parts, but I can definitely make up a bunch of 10" and 15" 2" coil subwoofers
-
I could have just built brand new 2" coil 15" subs for like $85 that would be better than the Punches
-
I have some sick ass aluminum honeycomb cones, they are open for a 3" coil, but could probably open them to a 4" coil. Tall narrow surround, so you have a little more cone area, and the cone is ridgid as all hell, Iam 300lbs, and I can stand on the cone Coils, I have the Dual 0.9 coils 4 layer ( if you have the tight gap) Spiders sure I can dig up, I can order some thats for sure Team PSI has some nice 4" spiders I have used before, not from there godly prices, but had some I received from a spider manufacturer but used them all up

dont be scared of the tline, or horn in reality, you can build a tline with a universal tuning of 40hz, or 30 hz and most subs will work just fine in it, its mainly the area of the line that is more important to match a horn or tline with its Fs is of course more important, because of impedance but I have proven to people over and over again, that you really can just build a tline, universally and they more than likely would work

15 PCH815 ROCKFORD/FOSGATE It shows up in my recone list, but you will need to re use your old dome, I cant get any original domes Probably not worth it though, about $55- 65 shipped NOT assembled You can also look on eBay for pre assembled kits

I would vote for folded horn, or transmission line, or one of the classic ABC boxes, or Dual tuned Parr bandpass small ported box firing in to a large ported box only thing showing is a large port area
-
I have been doing upgraded recones for these, using flat aluminum 4 layer coils, D4 D2 coils, doubling, or tripling on the spiders, and foam surrounds
-
ofcourse I have crap load of comments, but I will say the main one that stick out right now The pole piece that the coil rides up and down on, needs to be magnetic steel, not wood If you need any spiders, cones, even some coils, hit me up, I have tons of stuff here Iam not using and a bunch of 2" motors

trade car for a tv??
Forevrbumpn replied to doug118's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
I would say it depends on model and year of the TV I used to sell Sony Bravia's at the Parts and repair center at Sears, and back then they had about 3 lines, and cost refurbished $900 for the 42" and $800 for the 32" But these days the newer models have more features, and better scan rates, yet the prices for brand new is the same as refurbished back then, 3 years ago- Actually better $800 for a 46" So, all Iam trying to say is, cost of TVs went down so much, it may be a loss on your side BUT- I would do it Because I'am all in to home theater/video, and my daughter has a 2000 Passat, and it has been the worst car repair wise I have ever sat in, what I read up on the 99' same deal http://www.walmart.com/browse/TV-Video/TVs/All-TVs/Sony/_/N-94iwZ1z0po3vZaq90ZaqceZ1yzp7an/Ne-aq6s?search_sort=5&ic=48_0&ref=125875.425768+500500.4294296139+1000036.4292594735&tab_value=All&clicked_tab_value=All&catNavId=1060825&waRef=+500500.4294296139&depts=&search_sort=5 http://www.walmart.com/browse/TV-Video/DVD-Blu-ray-Players/All-DVD-Players/Sony/_/N-94iuZ1z0po3vZaq90Z1yzlzq9Zaqce/Ne-aq6s?search_sort=5&ic=14_0&ref=125875.425766+500500.4294296139+500846.4292444961&tab_value=All&clicked_tab_value=All&catNavId=1060825&waRef=+500500.4294296139&depts=&search_sort=5 -
My boss was always about the horn effect, as I posted in the Quarterwave thread ( I think) get your hands, and cup over your mouth, make a sound, like a ahhhh or something- make sure no one is looking.. lol start your hands off in a cylinder/tube shape, and slowly open them to a bull horn shape, the wider you go the louder your voice gets, until your hands are open to wide, and there is no more compression built up in your hands I always wanted to do a clam shell, my way, where maybe there is 24- 10" speakers, the beginning of the horn throat equals the cone area of just the 4 or 8 subs it would end with the area of all 24- 10" subs So basically the horn throat at the back wall, or port would be about 220 - 440sq inch assuming the 10" subs have a cone area of 55sq inches ( the area would be a test and re test method, first try with the area of half the speakers, then try with the full area of the subs) The ending result would be 660 - 1320sq inches if the opening goes to wide, say 1500 - 2000sq inches, there would be loss of compression at the horn/clamshell exit I cant say this is why your clam shell is louder now, than before, but I'am willing to bet compression built up in the horn of the clamshell is key

Yeah, something like that I mean, so far almost all reality shows are for women The ones for guys are just mainstream stuff, or they are not that interesting I mean, the Discovery channels have a few good ones. I actually love the Car Hunters one, with the older dude who buys cars to auction, there is a few others, but yeah, a reality show on bass racers, db draggers, and installers would be pretty sick I posted it before, something like a show based on 3-5 competing shops who have history with each other, show there competing in the lanes, and installs in the shop I'am just bored of extremely lame reality shows

SUCK ASS Anyone else's wives, or kids watch Real Housewives of "Place city here"? Or anything else, biggest loser, the apprentice or the love/couples one??? I just want to slit my wrists when all the kids, and the lil woman gang up to watch these, I just cringe at them cant explain why And these shows are so far from Reality, nothing close to reality, or every day life
