    was pondering the idea of running my 2 Kicker Comps in a free-air design. They are currently in a sealed box and sound decent, but i read that these subs are suitable for free-air design as well.. any thoughts or suggestions? car is an 05 Saturn Ion

    if they're dual 2 ohms, you can only wire them to .5 ohm, or 4 ohms. finding an amp that puts out that power at 4 ohms isnt likely, and running a .5 ohm load should be left to the pro's. you could run 2 separate amps (1 per sub@2 ohms)

    Good points..smaller boxes can be redone if needed, walls can be tough to simply "redo". buy 2 subs and spend the rest of the money you save on a good alarm, if you're worried about thieves.

    I think you said the sub budget was $1000, in another thread..If that's the case, I would imagine you could hit 40's off 2 subs, with the right design, and proper power. Also, you would wall it with the 10+subs, right?? So just wall it with like 4 15"s, or 2 18"s
