  1. Just use your head unit to power some plain old speakers that hav the woofer and tweeter all in one unit. I'd say pop an Fi SSD 15" in the back and power it off a hifonics amp or another reputable brand (lookin in F/S section of he forum!!!) For electrical, how is the stock alternator, bout 70Amps.... Look at another battery, 80Ah should be alright. Then do the big 3, build a box if you can. Ya set. That'll probs push the budget, but you won't be disappointed!!!
  2. I say chuck that thing on 26's and do some really sloooooooooooooooooowwwwww cruisin
  3. I've never really been a huge fan of their subs, the whole square thing seems a tad wankey... But just wondering who likes there stuff, interested to know why too! -Eskii
  4. I'd say go with subs up, port back with two BTL18's on an RF T4k (or two if you're up for a skills test) or on two SAZ-3000D's. More practical than a wall easier to build, and when you wanna up-grade to a fresher set ow wheels, it won't be hell getting it all out! Also, a fair stack of batteries. I dunno what size alts you can get for that car...
  5. Out of interest, why do you want a prefab...?
  6. stay with the 84. I think the 89's interface is too weird. I studying to me a mech Eng, and the most powerful tool to have is MatLab. Calculators are just handy!
  7. I'd say go the 18's ported. I got bout 3db more than sealed with RF T1, coz effectively, ya ports are adding to the air displacement.
  8. I'd look at enty level products from brands like MTX or Kicker maybe, they've got a massive amount of products and are available from most car audio stores.
  9. End of the day, pioneer are still make in china. (Unfortunately like some divisions of trusted companies). So not to be biased, they are of less quality than trusted US, European brands. If you want an entry level all-round sound system with good warrenty etc. Pioneer aren't bad. If you want an SPL or SPL/daily system, IMO look at different brands and along with that, price range!
  10. Well i say keep it simple!!! Analogie.... NASA couldn't use pens in space, so they put $2million into pressurized pens. Russians used pencils.... lol
  11. Your way looks good, big bolts look bad!!!!!
  12. x2 That looks pretty messy to me, unlesss you're usin the sub box as part of ya cars chassis, that's bit over the top! lol
  13. Well you'll need bout 6500 watts of electrical power from somewhere, so look at a 250+ alternator. Battery wise, i'd say two good 100Ah deep cycles, Powermaster'd be my pick. With all of that you don't really need a capacitor, just good as they reduce voltage drop. Oh and Big 3 with all that, Chassis to -ve, engine to -ve, +ve to alt, but you probs already know dat.
  14. Just buy a compass with extension arm, i use one for engineering drawings
  15. Rockford are over steve usin 50 runs of speaker wire to power the amps, dat boy does need some learnin! Enjoy mate!!!
  16. lol. HIGH FIVE!!! yeh, steve gets mad props from RF. Pretty sure most of us 'll pay retail for there amps
  17. Best place to ground would be a big ass bolt near the alteranator. Coz that's where all the electrons are comin from. This is probs the most vital part of the big 3, coz without it, ya just chockin the rest.
  18. Ease up tiger. There's no joke. Just some people, like myself, are interested in the more scientific side of sound systems. Coz there's a shitod of stuff! If you wanna stick with tuning freq, amp power, basic stuff, then all good. Don't knock someone for a pretty decent question.
  19. No offence to ya "i don't know much about......" but this forum isn't really for people starting out. Yes, pretty much everyone could offer there advice. But it's probably better to look for forums with people also starting out. Besides that, my advice, go to a helpful car audio shop, that way you can actually see wat shit's like in real life. Not just wat FiBANGER123 says on a forum. Coz youtube vids don't really sgive you much of a taste
