I need to get anywhere from 15-20 feet in one run of 1/0 guage wire. I'm looking for something along the lines of Kicker, Stinger, Knu Kolussus, Tsunami, Monster, or even Xscorpion. I like the cable with at least 4200 strands of wire or it's really not worth it. It doesn't have to be the super flexable stuff as long as it's OFC and in one piece. It can have ring terminals at each end cause that's what's going to go on there anyway. If no one has any that they want to sell I'll probably just order a piece from Knu for around $60 shipped. Thanks for looking and sell me yo wirez!!!

In Ohio where my car has plates from yes they are required. In North Carolina where I live no they are not. I just don't want to get NC plates because my window tint is too dark to pass inspection and it costs like $250 to get them when I pay $38 for Ohio tags.

That makes no sense at all. Is there anyway that you can take a video of it happening and testing the wire so that us visual learners can see what's going on?

It's not, it's just better to have the diagram right there when doing it. I just strapped my amps for the first time about a month ago and I had to have the manual in the car when I was doing it to make sure it was done right.

In your 1500d manual. It's very easy though. All you need to do is take some 8 guage and run it from the -'s on each amp to one another. Then take a single channel of an rca and run it from the Br in on the master amp to the Br out on the slave amp. Make sure the rca's are in the input on the master amp. Then you use the + terminals from the mater amp as the + wire for the subs and you use the + terminals from the slave amp for the - wires to the sub. You better look at a diagram though.

Yes, the master amp is the only amp that you use the controls for. That's why it's so nice to strap a pair of amps. On the other hand if you wanted to run one per coil you could unhook the sub wire from each amp. Then play a 50hz test tone at your max listening volume and find the AC voltage using a dmm with the + from the meter in the + from the amp and the - from the meter in the - from the amp. Let's say that your getting 47.6 volts AC out of the 1500d at your max listening volume. You won't be able to know if the signal is clipped so you'll have to use your best judgement when listening to it to determine if it sounds like shit. Anyway now you need to do the same thing with the other amp and set it to the same 47.6 volts. This is called gain matching and is much better when you can use an O-scope to see if the signal is clipped. I can tell you though if you have all your eq settings to flat and don't go ape shit on the volume 47.6 volts out of an saz1500d is not going to be a clipped signal. Also do not use the bass boost at all!!!

Take it slow then. It's whatever makes you feel comfortable. I just know what it's like to lose a good woman and it sucks. I'm sure that there are several guys on this site that can tell you about just that. The sex thing is nice, but it's not the only thing in the world. Any married couple will tell you that. Ask yourself one question. If she was gone tomorrow would you miss her? If you answer yes then I'd say that you might honestly want to consider making her happy. Women get pissed off and will leave your ass sometimes if you don't do things that they want. I know it's selfish, but do you want to look back and say "Damn, I really miss her and I should have asked her to marry me"? Even if you get engaged you don't have to marry her if you change your mind later. I don't even run a wall and my setup is 1.8db louder on the passenger side then it is on the driver's side. I let my wife drive the car sometimes just so I can listen to the car be louder. At first I always wondered why she would plug her right ear even though it does over a 151 on music and then I sat on the passenger side and found out why. It's like listening to a whole new setup over there. The highs sound a bit funny to me, but the bass is much louder and I love it. I need to get me a damn right hand drive vehicle

I never assumed that you were running a single crossover at all. It's just that if you have two mids in series on the crossover and two tweets in series on the same one the crossover will parallel the speakers internally and will result in a higher impedence than what it would if it were just a single of each tweet and mid is all I was trying to tell you.

I don't see anything wrong with it then. Each crossover should be fine then since it won't be running at a lower load then it normally would. You may actually have to turn the amp up in this case since you will be running at a higher impedence then what you would with a side off the crossover instead of the whole set.

There might be an issue if you run more power through the crossover than what it's rated to handle. What is the rms on the comp set? I wouldn't go over that if your going to run a whole set off of just one crossover. They should be fine, but just remember to adjust your amps to a lower gain level since you'll be running the amp at a lower impedence with a whole set on a single crossover. You may sacrafice some sound quality too since you'd be at a lower impedence. You could try one other thing though. Try wiring the mids and tweets in series before you wire them into the crossover so it doesn't run at a lower impedence. That should help you out a bit for the sound quality part of it, but I still wouldn't run more than what a single side of the comp set is capable of doing.

They recone subwoofers. They would put a recone on the sub so it is usable again. If I had to guess how much they would charge I would say around $80 or so just for the recone and I'm not sure how much they charge to actually do the recone for you. It's easy to do and can save you quite a bit to do it yourself. I'm pretty sure I could get my own parts to recone the sub much cheaper than what they would charge.

Sundown saz3000d can be had used for $550 all day long Sundown saz3500d can be had used for around $700 Sundown saz1500d's are all over the place for $300 used and for $400 new Sundown saz2000d is a bit more pricey at $615 new and you won't see a ton of people selling them used right now either I don't care what other company uses the same Zenon boards weather it be American Bass, Spl Dynamics, DC Audio, Atomic, whoever they may be they are still not the same as the Sundown amps. Why? Because Jacob's customer service is unmatched out there period! I don't care who you are a first time customer or a long time Sundown user he will take care of you and make you happy. There is no other smaller amp/sub manufacturer that attends more spl events too. So if this is something you will be doing he is the guy to talk to. Yes, call me a fan boy nut hugger if you want, but not only is Jacob my manufacturer of equiptment he is a friend that I have here in NC to talk to about the audio scene.

Those look very nice. I have a custom made 8" aeroport in my possesion right now that I am told was made in Puerto Rico. Any chance that you've ever made some 8" ports and they made it to the states?

Just make sure that the box is optimum for the 15's cause the last thing you want to do is put them in a crappy box. I'd say if you have enough room for 12ish cubes you'll be fine. You could even do up to 14 cubes and be good imo. I like to run my 15's in around 3.6 each for daily, but for spl it's right around 2.9-3 cubes for me. Is this going to be a wall?

So your planning on going from 2 btl 18's to 4 ssd 15's? I think that's a good choice. The ssd is a very very good woofer especially for the super low price tag. Also your going to have 4 of them which is 706sqin of cone area comparred to 508sqin of cone in the 18's. The added voice coils and extra motor force should allow you to be quite a bit louder even off the same exact amount of power. You'll be able to push the ssd's closer to their xmax and they should move more air. I think that it would be a great setup to have. I've always wanted a 4 15 setup again in my ride and I'd definately choose the ssd's for the job. Good luck!

This setup definately looks loud. It's moving a ton of air cause I don't even think I can get something to move that much in my car. I really wanna know what kind of TL numbers your getting out of it. I'm sure it's easily in the 150's. What's the truck tuned to?
