  3. Yep..a standard non back carpet is what ya need..yes I start a couple staples on the corners and kind work things around a bit..sometimes you do end up pulling a few staples but only a few..as for the lenth..whatever you can fit..on the bigger boxes I will run half inchers.
  4. Yep thats some nice work there little buddy.. Now just learn your camera/computer!!
  5. As I am not going through anything as drastic as this...all I can say is stay as positive as you can..being good in the head does wonders for the body!!Best of luck to you and your family.
  6. Most of the time you dont do a panel for the bottom..you just wrap a the carpet to the bottom of the box!!
  7. Got my tickets in the mail yesterday...Thanks Noob.
  8. Some place in here theres some pics of a few boxes I have wrapped..some BIG ones..yes the back panel where the wire exit is added on with a brad nailler...no screws to be seen!
  9. After I get it wrapped I staple the hole s for the speakers.. now with most carpet jobs like this one the uncoverd area would be on the bottom....well with this one the owner will be moving things around alot so I put on a cover panel for the bottom..where I think he will put his amps... hope this makes it a little easier to do for you!!
  10. Heres a little look at how I wrap a box..for some of you its old news.. THe first thing I do is round over the edges of the box..no sharp stuff, then I will some time paint the edges the color of the carpet so if there is any spots that get pulled alittle to much they wont show in the carpet. The first thing I do is center the box on a piece of carpet thats big enough to over lap on all sides.. as you can see this is all the material that you have to move around.. you will end up pulling up on this fairly hard to get a good stretch..
  11. Damn right they can sound good...shit mang thats how a lot of bangen systems were done back in the day...cutties to caddies..12's and 15's!!
  12. Change your angle.just offer to do a little shop clean up and be a second set of hands to some of the installers..just a few hours each week for free(kind of an intern thing)..that way if you really need the money, you can get a paying job as well..if you want into the trade, you have to be willing to start off low.
  13. Started installing when in high school!!FUCK fast food!!
  14. A little bit of sanity for next year...this year was fucking crazy!!!
  15. Hell I'm local..bring it by my shop!!! LOVE to see it.
  16. The only thing I dont like is how close the face of the sub is to the box...would like to see a bit more space between them..but with lower power should sound good
  17. Man I use 1\4 inch mdf all the time...great stuff to work with...just use your 1\4 round over and raise it a bit...then a little sand paper if ya want!
