  1. When people ask me i just tell them that i am passoinate about it, and love learning new things because there is a LOT to learn in car audio from electronics to enclosure building to other stuff. Also, i know a lot of other people will agree with me in that low frequencies gives a calming effect, so when people ask why i have such a loud stereo, i ask; why do people smoke cigarettes? Because it gives them a calming effect, and so does bass, just with fewer or no side effects. Hell, just do a little research online and you'll find that a mother's heartbeat on an unborn child has a calming effect upon the baby. In addition, a friends doctor gave him a cd that had sine waves of low frequency on it to produce- you guessed it- to calm him

  3. humm need more info, get a volt meter and test the pos, neg, and remote turn on termainals, then check fusing, then probe the outputs with the dmm and measure ac voltage. It could be many things, so try that and see where it gets you

  7. with flared round ports you can go under 12 sq inches of port per cube without getting port noise, but i wouldnt say any less than 8 sq inches. I'd say go with 2 3" and you would be more than fine. I had 4 3" on a 3.6 cu ft box with 4 10's in it, and never had any port noise unless i played way below tuning freq
  8. sounds to me like the amp is grounding itself through the frame of the amp to the frame of the car, maybe grounding through the rca's but i doubt it. Is the amp in any way touching the body of the car?

  21. i've heard from excessive amperage that if you connect the amp directly to the alternator, and not the battery it can cause damage to the alternator.
