  1. I recently bought a sundown2500 from this fine gentlemen. Couldn't have asked for a smoother purchase. He held it for me even though he had others with cash in hand trying to buy it. The amp was accurately described and came in only 2 days. Thanks again newls1.
  2. Buy a wiring harness. If you already set your mind on hard wiring from factory wires check out www.the12volt.com they might have a diagram.
  3. Looks good.... I saw where the winner of a second skin contest gained 1 or 2 Dbs just from damplifier on his roof. I think it was in a Durango. Good job and enjoy.
  4. What about the sax200 woofersetc has them for 578 shipped cheaper then 380x2
  5. What he said ^^^^ it's just a game. Kids mom shoulda massed the dude and put it on YouTube.
  6. That's crazy... I talk mad shit when I'm on COD. But I'm not 13 I'm 26, 6'4" 200 lbs. That old man woulda got laid out coming to my house like that.
  7. Wow I want to buy ur car I'll pay you next week can u ship tomorrow? Jk... Never ship anything before you get your money unless it's a COD.
  8. As I stated in my original post( this will be in a suv off the 1200d). I can't tell you specifically what suv because I'm not buying a new truck for another couple months. I just know I'm getting a suv because we get bad winters n Indiana and I need 4x4. I just figured I'll get my equipment now when it's on sale n save a couple hundred. Thanks for the input guys. If sundown thinks 2 sa15 then I'll probably end up going that route. Input is still welcome though.
  9. I've been looking into sundown a lot lately. Now that sundown is having the October sale I thought it might be time to make a move. They have a deal on the sax-1200d amp. So I was wondering in a ported enclosure what would the differences be in spl and sq? I was thinking of getting 1 15z at first but now for the price maybe 2 sa15's. I know the z's are rated at 1000rms and the sa's at 600rms but both can take a lot more. This will be in a suv off the 1200d. I'm just trying to get the best SQL combo. So with that being said, would 1 15z, 1 sa15, 2 sa15's be the best combo. This will be for daily. I just don't know how 1200watts will sound on the different combos. I was thinking 2 sa15's getting 600rms a piece but, would 1 sub being pushed passed it's rated rms be as loud or sound as good. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.
  10. I don't have any videos. I'll take a few videos when I get a chance. The eq is nice for the price because you can choose any 5 frequencies you wanna change instead of being limited to the 5 pre selected frequencies most parametric eqs offer. I still prefer a audio control dqxs or dqs but for some 2-ways it does it's job well. It also has a built in line driver. I use the volume knob on the eq all the time n just set my volume on my cd player to like 45. I only paid like $60 for it and I'd say well worth it. I really like the sub for $100 sounds great. It doesn't over power the 2-ways and gets the lows really good. Im thinking of changing it out for a id15 d2 just so I can build some more stuff. We'll c what happens because I'm happy with it now. I'm thinking of throwing my image dynamics components in the front doors just for fun since I have just sitting n the basement. If I change things up I'll be sure to take a few pics n videos. Glad u guys like it.
  11. Thnx, I'm gonna get another suv in maybe 6 months or so. Not going to be to crazy probably just 1 or 2 15's with image components n sundown amps. I just got bored so i figured i'd throw something together.
  12. Nothing crazy here, just a cheap build in a old pickup I traded a flat screen to my dad for. Only 86,000 miles not to bad. Equipment: 4-alpine type r 6.5 2-ways, pioneer 6300ub deck, 4awg kicker amp kit, MB QUART4.150, ID10 D2, kicker eq5, second skin deadener w/overkill or whatever its called. I just needed something better then the tape deck n card board speakers from 1993. I also have 60amp alternator stock so wanted to go small n cheap but still sounding decent for the drive to work. Truck didn't have a center console or any cup holders, so I made one real quick outta wood n cut a hole for my Mnt Dew. Build totaled right around $800 for everything. I know you guys are use to seeing 10 18's in a wall with 30000watts. Just thought I'd post some pics that showed something more simple and cheap. I'd have to say it sounds great for a budget build. Here it goes...enjoy.
  13. Forgot to mention to make sure your amps crossovers aren't set weird. If you have your amp high pass at 100hz and dqxs at 40hz then you aren't gaining anything lower then 100hz.
  14. I think I was wrong about the slopes though. Whatever you crossover at shouldn't play past that point the slope just make your roll off more gradual. I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in. I'm still learning and don't claim to know everything. Just make sure you fade to your front speakers when you cross them over so you can hear if you need to raise your high pass. Try different slopes to see what works best for you. I just sat in my car and played with it for awhile. You should be safe as long as you set your high pass at the low frequency your speakers can saftley play. As far as a low pass not sure how important that one is for full range speakers. I think that's more for band passing some mids but it wouldnt hurt anything to just set it at the highest frequency your speaker can play. Like I said just a rough run down of where they should be.
  15. U got a number I can reach u at it would be easier to clarify some stuff over the phone instead of typing 3 paragraphs. I pmed u if you want to clear some things up.
  16. Crossover points on your sub will differ from speaker to speaker. I just try to have a nice blend from the sub bass to midbass transition. Hope I helped a little. I'm not a pro just like car audio. I remember when I got my dqxs it was a bit overwhelming. I was not familiar with any eq other then the adjustments on cd players. When you have that much control and no meter its almost impossible to get everything perfect. The more you read about tuning and crossover points the better you will get. Just playing with it for hours will help you don't forget to save your settings.
  17. You should play with it a bit but I would start with your factory specs on your speakers. If they produce 65hz-20,000hz then put your high pass at 65-75 n lowpass at 20,000. Peq is just a parametric eq setting you can use which mean it will adjust more then 1 frequency the wider you make your slope the more frequencies will be adjusted. Pmf or whatever is a subsonic filter so whatever you set it at no frequencies below that number will play. I'm not sure what your equipment you have so I couldn't tell you anything more then some rough start points. Results will be different for each speaker. Some components play from 55hz up and other 65hz some of it will be up to what sounds best to you. Just make sure your not trying to make your 6x9's or 6.5's play to low. Take into consideration that your crossover slope will make a smooth roll off or steep roll off. 12db slope at 65hz will be a wide roll off so it might play to 55hz or so where a 6db slope might roll off at 60hz. Just a example not saying that's exactly where it will roll off. I hope I explained good enough it's all in your owners manual. If you don't have one go to audio controls site n download one. Let me know if your confused or need more help. And if I'm incorrect on something someone else feel free to correct me.
  18. I use to have one. Now I have a dqs... What's your question? Some more info would be helpful.
  19. You need a minumum 150 posts to sell here...... :
