door pack
Anthony Collova replied to baaudio's topic in Second Skin Sound Deadening and Automotive Insulation!
A door pack will do 2 doors decently well, and 1 door very VERY well. Depends on the size of the door, but most people use one pack per door... ANT -
spectrum curing time
Anthony Collova replied to lockdown801's topic in Second Skin Sound Deadening and Automotive Insulation!
Spectrum requires 30 days to fully cure. Most of the water will be released within the first week I would wait 30 dyas but if you are in a hurry, 1 week might be ok... ANT -

SPL Tiles
Anthony Collova replied to Ludachris5150's topic in Second Skin Sound Deadening and Automotive Insulation!
First off, thanks for your order! The Tiles are mean little bastards for sure! Thickest foil in the industry! The adhesive is butyl, which is not as effected by temperature as some other, less quality adhesives tend to be. A heat gun or hair dryer will help a good deal to make it more pliable, but heat is not required. Hope that helps! ANT -
Hushmat is a great product Stinger Road Kill Expert is good, but the adhesive is a far less quality than every other butyl based damper out there. Both are going to be pretty close in thickness to Damplifier Pro The difference is the foil thickness. Damplifier PRo has a thicker foil thatn both of the other products.. Hope that helps ANT

Depends on which Raammat version you have. BXt? BXT II ? Floor only (aspahlt) Let us konw which version of Raammat you have. In most cases high heat, or very cold temperatures will do it A heat gun and a putty knife is a good start. Dry ice is grat ut not always effective and takes a long time.. ANT

Actually I think that the price increase on raw materials came last year. In the last 2 years I have seen 6 price inceases from my raw material vendors. It just kept going up and up and up. I suspect that Dynamat saw the same thing and they just held off as long as they could. Now, that times are tough, they have to pass that increase on to customers. We had a small price increase a while ago but have nothing on the books as of now. Plus, by having a price incrase dynamat gets to focus on the customer that are willing to spend more money with them, thus making up for the ones that drop off because o fthe price increase. ANT

It is only going to be available in black, which will be a good deal darker than what you see inthe pics. The coating prototype is grey. Black will look better. No other colors will be available. It is kind of smoother, but has a small amount of grip to it. Not a ton though. It is loaded with crumb rubber bit to give the texture. The thicker you apply the coating, the more the rubber gets covered. A very thing coat would more like paint with snad mixed in to it. Thicker coats tend to exceed the thickness of the rubber bits and make a softer texture. It is available now but it is not currently listed on our site. We are adding a shopping cart to diyma.com so this might end up as a diyma product rather than a Second Skin one. Not sure where it would fit in with the sound deadening and insualtion products we offer. DIYMA might be a better fit. Designed for cosmetics and durability, but since it an acrylic blend, it will reduce vibrations to some extent. NOt nearly as good as our Spectrum or Sludge noise coatings but it will help. Somewhere in the $50-60 range as of now. 1 gallon will cover about 50-60 sq feet. Answered above.. ANT

I blended up a nice sized lab batch of our new enclosure caoting product and got it in the hands of a few people for testing. The product is pretty much ready to go, but I need to make a couple slight changes to help with minor mud cracking. It is a water based acrylic loaded with 30 mesh bubber bit for a bed liner type look. An alterntive to carpet that can be brushed or sprayed. Here are his pics: ANT

Wow.. I wish so many Second Skin threads did not turn in to ca.com turds.. Steve was pointing out his happiness with the product. Nothing more. To read in to anything else seems to be looking for trouble. Megalo was pointing out room for improvment based on his understanding of acoustical control. Not much else.. Somehow all of this turns in to a heated argument.. How about we get back on topic and spread some Christmas cheer? ANT
