ive had a q logic kicks in my car for over 4 yrs now with no covers and have not kicked one in yet. when you actually put a 6.5 in them you really cant cover them up much

thats what rf did with mine replaced the whole board supposedly. I never opened them to check but thats what they told me. Even when i moved the smoker it would still do it. Had no idea why just that one was a lemon.

I had the same problem with an RF amp when I had the 4 1000 bds. every time I went to turn it on it went poof. send it in month later poof send it in get it back poof. Thought it was where i had it installed. switched amps around same amp poof. I sold them before I ever got to run all four at once.

agree agree and agree. I dont think too many people who are saying they wouldnt take the DDs have ever gotten their hands on them.

ok think of it this way. you need to charge the cap correct? Once it is drained or current is pulled from it it will need more juice correct? Well what happens then? the alternator has to charge it along with supply the necessary current to the rest of the items that are in need. You just created more current draw then you originally had. Same thing with a battery the only good thing is that you have a bigger reserve to pull current from before the its noticeable. if you are advanced far enough to have these issues then you really should consider running a bigger alternator that can power everything sufficiently. Dont bandaid your electrical when it needs stitches!!!!!!

a cavalier? im pretty familiar with them lol. its a 105 amp factory alt. do your big three. i was able to sustain two 1000bds off the stocker with that done. I wouldnt recommend it and would upgrade as soonas i could. If you have the 2.2 ohv engine you are in luck. you have no power but you can get a bracket made to fit a large case gm alt so you can get a big 300 amp alt. the 2.4 engine kinda sucks since its under the engine in a confined space so you can only go up to what i believe is a 200 amp in the small case. ecotec engine is very different and im not quite sure what fits it. Iknow last time i talked to dom about it the ecotec engine (well actually the ecu) shuts the alternator off at higher rpm loads to produce more power. Your best bet if you run the ecotec is to contact one of the alt guys and see what they can do for you.

oh if you already have it then fuck it bang it out. go for a deep cycle battery there are many brands that are marketed strictly for car audio. Kinetiks the big kid on the block and then you have stinger optima etc etc. The battery is really not any more important than the rest of your charging system though. its only as good as its weakest link. what car do you have? and what size alternator? have you done your big three?

its not bad. but im pretty sure for 400 you can find a better amp than that.

ive done installs for my buddies with the type rs and i believe i did two cubesish and 25 sq for port area. its in an 03 explorer and has a brutus1606 for power and it beats pretty good actually. just looked it was 2 cubes 20 per.

bar none in a cavalier you will be louder with a wall. 4 15s will fit. at least in my 01 they will. its 52 across at the bottom straight up to about 28 inches and then tapers in to 40 ish can fit four very easily if you build it in pieces and inside the car. once I get moved into my house i will have 4 DD 9515s powered by 4 orion 2500ds in mine.
