Well I was the judge and I did have a look at the system, he burps so low, but its so quiet outside the cabin. Clay kept the oem look and I am proud to have him in my area because I always try to keep the competitors in my area totally legal and no grey areas. So when we dropped the 4mm damping rule we were thinking bout people who would normally destroy their doors and sheet metal every burp. Glad Clay could make it out. I always have high expectations and I see clay pushing 168+ in the future.

I have ran it down to .25 ohm on 18.5 volt supply and it's still working great. Its not the tightest bass loaded down that low but it shows that someone knew what they were doing when it was designed. Now that I got it out I am gonna do some resistor testing on the bench and see where it locks up at but at .25 ohm reactive that's already scary low on 18 volt.

Don't get your hopes up guys it just went into protect. I thought I had it this time but damn this is a resilient little amp.

Steve you keep hitting home runs with these products. Will there be a mono version with 8 pair of outputs? There hasn't been a good one since RW Audio stopped making those. Anyway I still have to try out the CC-1 and the AD-1 so I can add this to my list of must stock as well.

It would be ok but the port area is high. Not too high that it wont resonate well or efficient but your gonna run into problems playing below tuning and playing harmonics below tuning with the sharp response drop. Generally any good daily enclosure with a lot of port area come with lots of depth for port mass. I would try it and graph the response inside the vehicle and if you see too sharp a drop below, say 35 hz then reduce it as needed. Optimally I have seen 50 sq inch ports for dual 12"'s doing really well. It's all in the vehicle loading.

I don't do this for fame. I do this for the love of the industry and it's at the core of my existence. I may know more about audio than the average person but I don't know everything, no one does. I used to offer my help all the time but these days there is so many self proclaimed guru's that are rude, obnoxious and clueless. So now if I see genuine folks asking for help I will help those people because that is where the time is well spent. I respect so many of you who have stuck around in the industry since early 1990's and do the same(you all know who you are) Hell, look at Steve. He has opened up our small industry to a whole new audience and I support that 100%. I remember when he was on my old forum and he was like a sponge learning everything he read and asking questions. Now look at the great builds he does. That's talent and I am proud of him.

Heck some companies still use my innovations to this day with subwoofer building. One company even copies an old name I used on one of my lines. lol But ya the Q line is what he needs, I might pick myself up a few 10's for my collection.

Any pictures of the current setup or what you want from the new enclosure that your not getting now?

Your gonna need alot of space for a 4th order and that subwoofer. How much space do you have to work with and what type of loading will it use in the cabin?

Your kidding me right? If I could show you in person and Bet you you would see a continuous 3000 wrms from this amp I would be a little richer. When I say 3000wrms I mean 3000wrms lol. You might want to re read what the amp is running at too.

I thought the CCA went under? I dont even go there anyway anymore it wasn't about car audio promotion anymore. Edit but ya this amp will do 3100wrms the way I am running it.

Jacob did some more work to box and good news! Spl is up to 156 now! On a side note I just cant fathom how its not blowing any of these fuses on the amp and do such power.

.35 ohm and it plays fine with music. Set the gains with the DD-1 so clip free signal helps!

Your on the right track, I would say if it plays the music you like then leave it but it your thinking just a bit more low end drop would be better try tuning a bit lower, 30-34 might lose your peak a bit but should bring up the rest.

I finally got my DD-1 back, Definitely faster was the general consensus. And in the installation business, time IS money.

Will there be a data base available for people to submit measured amplifiers created? Depending on the cost I will be buying one and submitting measurements.

Ya I got a few o-scopes as well, handheld and a bench one. But every time someone wants to borrow them I end up doing the work for them because they have no clue how to use them. Well no more I think I will use it also over the o-scopes because its so damn fast to set stuff up. The o-scope does a few things I still will use but for anyone else and for in car tweaking. This is where its at.

I know its something you put off till later and say "I will get one eventually" but don't wait, if you dont have an o-scope this is a MUST. Its like being a carpenter without the proper hammer.

Thanks guys, I never put up pics or video's. Who wants to look at my ugly mug anyway. But seriously when I saw this, I saw the bigger picture. With this in Future Shops, Best Buys etc... it will let their salespeople do their own setting up soundboard gains each week(some customers crank em all the time). Theres nothing worse as an installer to come to work with a pile of cars waiting to deal with soundboards sounding all whacked from some kids maxing the gains the day before. This will save many hours for installers. Another bonus is the bosses don't have to buy an expensive hand held O-scope for their installers who may or may not even understand how to use them.

Well I received my DD-1 just before xmas. There isn't much I could say about it that has not been said already. It lives up to expectations and the other reviews I have read. I immediately tested it compared to the O-Scope, it was exactly right on spec with my front end amps(class AB). I got no pictures for you or video's, I dont want to waste to much of your time. Most of what I will say has been said already. The Stetsoms if you have not worked with them, they always have that tiny switching noise you see on the scope and its tougher to set them to absolute max clean signal due to the processor or whatever is causing the noise. They are great amps but they require much more care when setting them up. We all know the results of these amps in uneducated hands. Now with the DD-1 since its a light, it ignored the small noise and only read the true distortion so I was able to reset the gains a bit higher and gain match them with a multimeter(waiting to test the CC-1) Now remember its colder now since my last test so when I tested the system again I hit 162.3@44hz(Fall time was 161.5dB@43Hz) So I would expect some of that gain to be from the colder dense air and some from the re-tweak on the gains. Front end sounded just as good when set with the o-scope but the set up time was 2x longer. I took it to a few stores installation bays/demo rooms and set some of the display board amps with fantastic results. Sounded better in every way over the inexperienced setting they had before(basically someone maxed them. ewww) I almost lost my DD-1 to one store LOOL I am sure theirs is ordered by now. Just some quick points to make are that this is very easy to use. Lots of o-scopes, even the hand held ones freek some installers out so this removes that fear. If you can follow directions you won't have a problem. I would also point out that sub/amp manufactures should smiling all over the world because never before has such a simple device been put into the hands of the inexperienced(and pro) installers. People that would normally set their gains by ear and have loads of distortion wreck the amp/subwoofers, now have an easy to use visual aid to setting up the maximum clean signal. It's as easy as playing Red Light Green Light. The only Cons I can possibly come up with: -Something has to be done for Canadians and the incredible shipping cost, we are on the same continent after all -It would be nice to see a 3' single male to male and single male to female RCA cables included for those instances where they cant reach the unit. Not a huge deal but it would be nice. -It would be nice to see a 9v battery in there but again, not a huge deal. I would like to thank the guys responsible for the making of this device. You had me at track 3 Can't wait for the CC-1, its got alot more to live up to because I work with MANY multi sub amp systems.

Does this mean I can advise people? But I see your(the OP) pet peeve though. You always have to sort through a ton of crap just to find that one gem of good info as a beginner these days.
