  1. I have used this one but I still prefer to use the old way. This one works and it does take a few seconds to read so it does not record peak burst power. http://www.testequipmentdepot.com/extech/clampmeters/380940.htm If there was anyway Tony could make a better one I am sure ALOT of soundoff orgs and competitors would purchase one. Currently in dB Drag we are having a tough time creating power based classes without a consistant method to classify people if we go with power classes. We cant agree to go with power classes until we find a quick method to measure power that will be the same across the planet for everyone. Steve or Tony, maybe at CES you could discuss this with Wayne Harris. There is definitely a market for an affordable power meter that has a readout and could be used in the lanes of many Sound-off orgs.
  2. Steve, I have a question, in the video, you set each amp up to produce its cleanest power possible. Now when you changed over to the CC-1 did you measure each amps voltage to see the lowest one to calibrate the rest down too? Being that they are all set to maximum cleanest power adjusting the higher ones down to the lower ones gains to match outputs would be better than adjusting upward. I might have missed that in another video but I thought that was important. You will always gain the most SPL/SQ when adjusting down to amp the lowest output after setting with a DD-1. So naturally I would calibrate the CC-1 to that amp with the lowest output after using the DD-1 for gain matching. Can you test this in another video and compare it to gain matching upward vs downward? Show a spl comparison if possible. I hope that makes sense.
  3. I paid $97 shipping to get it to Canada so...ya Total to my door price was close to $275 after duty had their $17 added. I gained some few tenths using it over my O-scope so it paid for itself right there.
  4. What is that LED light bar being used? how is it constructed? Edit: OK now I understand. Read into it some more. Glad I don't go by useless descriptions lol. I go by real world results. I just got a DD-1 and now my score is 162ish. Mids and highs are the same but the DD-1 for some reason works really good on Class H amps over the scope.
  5. I bet I paid the most for a DD-1..... $230+ Just to get one into Canada. So Canadians be aware its $97 dollars to ship to you on top of the $139 price tag. (Thanks for the code btw)
  6. Please say your looking for a sprinter to do a daily system to destroy people Astro's are so over done. I even want to help if I can.
  7. I have been trying to get a show going in Regina for some time but no one wants multiple 160+ vehicles playing music within 1-2 miles of residential homes. We have some of the loudest(ambient sound) shows in the world so we always look for shows away from residential area's.
  8. Borden Sk. here.(30 min north of Saskatoon) Plenty from SK. here though.
  9. Ditto, I hear thats a good note all around. Rusty, its nice just to build for yourself with no expectations or deadlines. Brings you back to why you started this in the first place. Nice starting score there, whats the clamped power? I see 165+ in there
  10. Clay I totally get ya bro. All that matters is the right people know whats what.
  11. If one buys an amp, does it come with a free set of "Flux Goggles"?
  12. The chaos line are really amazing for the Relativly small price. I have shoved over 2500wrms per sub with music and burps and they took it just fine. You do have to set up the subsonic filter because they can bottom out but once thats set your laughing when you crank the volume :) Keep in mind your warranty is up to 800wrms but if you treat them fine you should never even need it.

  13. I like the nut basket spacers Drilling holes in top plate not so much. Looks pretty damn mean otherwise.
  14. I will order 3 shirts from Clay now Oh Clay will see this and get me 3. Thanks Clay!
  15. This one gets my vote. I like this one, not sure who designed it. But from a buisness point I would have the website on the front and back. Maybe list past world records on the back with the site info, Also being in greyscale/black/white the cost to mass produce and sell will be better with more base shirt colors. I would certainly wear one.
  16. Theres a couple vids somewhere on ddkings youtube page. The DD's were about .7 louder but they costed 3x more so you can see the value. The chaos had the pleasure of getting in there as I did the roof and floor so thats why the huge gains. But in reality the chaos were only .7(approx) from the DD scores. I have already compared the Mayhems to the DD's and they are louder than the DD's so I should see a nice gain coming from the chaos 15's. Both the Mayhem chaos were better sounding than the DD when played in the 30-40hz regions. Also note in the last score(162) I had the floor done and the stetsoms were loaded to .3 ohm so it won't play music with that power, I just wanted to find the limit with a burp on the chaos 15's. So the 160 would be my normal musical load with the lower power. Enclosure is big but I did that on purpose. Right now its 26.7 cubes(420sq inch port tuned to 36hz) and peaks at 45hz closed up but will be approx 43hz peak when done with maybe 23 cubes finalized.
  17. Yes Yes the A-Team is at it again, adding dual band EQ's etc and setting an even higher score in Psychlone. I thought it would be bad to keep this video from all of you DC guys. I know how you love the killer video's. Bob Dean took this video so say thanks to him. This run was a 397.4 point run, the video is of the spl part of the run. As you can see 155.5dB @ 28hz is really loud as you can tell the mic was having trouble with the sound way way far from the open drivers door. Also the building windows were all flexing over 3/4" Anyway good fun as always..enjoy and congrats once again DC.
  18. Color matched and now they are perfect! very happy with the sound now that they are the same color haha. Just got the AA's to put in.
  19. Thanks guys! he picked up the truck and was floored by the sound & looks.. I even detailed the interior for that extra impression. I do like the fact it is OEM appearance. I could have matched the doors better but he won't be doing any shows anyway. It was more for me just to do something nice for a friend while he worked on my blazer paint job. I will be putting in some AA's 10's in, putting on the 6.5" grilles and getting the pocket for the dash in the next little while.
  20. The owner is coming to pick up the truck today will get his impression on the system.
  21. I just finished a small system for a friend who is painting my blazer. I had to use all his old gear so thats why all the stuff is older models. I just did up a nice install for him for daily music. I was actually surprized how well it sounded and how loud it was for a sealed enclosure with .8 cubes per 10. Anyway enjoy this very basic system. This is as small as it gets but sound is amazing due to the care during the design and install. Scores 92's on Psychlone right out of the gate too but he won't compete I don't think.
