  1. lol. That's not a indicator of how much power it can produce. Some older Audiobahn amps are good but new isn't worth it at all. Sundown is much better , there is no real comparison between them.
  2. If you mean 5kw each, then they will blow if you mean 5kw for 2 then it's gonna be on the edge.. Solo X's don't really like a lot of power, 2000 watt should be better since he seems to be a beginner.. They can handle more then 2.5kw but not much more, certainly not 5kw RMS as advertised.
  3. Scores are harder to get nowadays. Do that exact same setup and get it metered on a TL today, and I would be surprised if it broke a 155. Yeah, i know the TL is much harder. Anyonw know just how many dbs lower it is from the AC meter? With the one from 2000? probably 10db easily.
  4. Either you have to find a retard for the soundstorm or sell the alpine for a decent price.
  5. I hope those batts don't release gasses.. of course they do. really not enough to worry about though. I'd planned to make a ventilation system for them, but the car is now gone. paid $80 each for the batteries, they were to run a SounDigital 16kd, that never arrived. Lol, you give advice to secure batts "properly" and are using batts that aren't sealed. ><
  6. According to my TPI440, the AQ clip light is almost spot on.... Now I have a newer 2200d, real new. My older version did vary slightly. I would trust the clip light. Now are you goin to say my oscope is bad because its not a DD1? LOL the TPI was the thing TO HAVE here before the DD1. ... Don't listen to this person.. Don't trust the clip light, except if you have to. But it only detects clipping made by the amp.(by measuring rail voltage like decaf said.) DD1 is not a oscope, DD1 is better since it can detect distortion. The oscope is still good if you know how to use it, and a handheld one isn't the best option. And the TPI is very decent, measured nearly the same as my old school bench scope.... The dd1 is an accurate way to measure distortion, but using the clip light still has a use. It's also very nice to monitor the music, as a lot of music has different recording qualities and properties. So even if you set the gain with a dd1, the clip light still has a very good purpose. And from what I read, crescendo is going WITH the clip light. TO the red: TPI is very decent, but because it's handheld you can barely see distortion(or not at all), you need a very trained eye. THe big oscopes are better because it's easier to read and is more detailed. Purple= The clip light doesn't detect clipping before the amp. Only clipping made by the amp. SO after setting the gain with DD1 or Oscope you don't need the clip light.

  9. ... Japanese stuff is shit? you make me laugh. Japan is the place to be to have reliable stuff made. And if you can find a RF 1501bd off ebay for 150 dollar i'd like to buy a few.. 1600w RMS at 1 and 2 ohm? No that's only for the CP series.
  10. the reserve capacity is too low. It needs to be atleast in the 600 for audio applications, you would be better off using 2 smaller xs batteries at the same price
  11. straight to the frame. and at the same spot. grinded down nice. then siliconed over to protect. the more and more im playing with it it seems like the amp but im still not sure. found out my headunit doesnt do jack for preout voltage until almost to the end of the volume knob from testing. That's normal.
  12. Me neither but it's nice to show your SQ. I don't like country or whatever it is at all.
  13. How did you ground your amps?
  14. Its not impressive because its not the full quality at all. Flac works on my HU , pioneer 6300sd. And you cant compare a computer to a HU. Its like saying why cant my cellphone edit HD vids, it costed 700dollars and i can do it on my 600dollar computer.
  15. The sound on most chris Jones music is great, just as this song. Amawing low end.
  16. This the first post I saw... but glad to see after reading these boards for 4 years I finally decided to join and made a friend *also suggested he get his setup scoped and to run a fairly low gain with a high input voltage. Who really goes around blaring just mids and highs anyway? I'm an sq guy so my gain hardly ever see past 75% that's with a 4v rca input but with no subs if you can hear your mids distorting then you've got a probelm, I'm sure when this guy checks this tomorrow he's gonna be like damn I just asked a question. You are funny, you are not a SQ guy at all. If you are , then you are a shame to all other real SQ guys. And 75% gain with 4v inputs will have distortion on a lot of amps, because most of the time they can only handle 6v-8v of input voltage, so the gain would be set waay too high. Seriously? A SQ guy who put's his gain to 75% and has 2 15 inch subs and no amp for the speakers. ><
  17. the deadener will do nothing in a enclosure. Its not made for that and it wont work for what you are thinking.
  18. Well it's not. The mojo can handle it's rated and way more easily, the t3 can't.
  19. Lol, not only your helmet saves your life also the vest that protects your back from breaking. So you don't really care about limbs? You wouldn't mind living like a dead plant? only being able to eat and drink thru a straw. I've seen quite a lot of motorcycle accidents where people didn't want to wear their gear or buy some, just wearing a helmet then they got hit by a car and they are in a wheelchair for life. Dude if an accident is gonna happen, it's GONNA happen. People die in cars just the same. People get paralyzed and disabled in cars JUST the same. Driving in traffic/in the middle of nowhere, there are chances we take. This guy is never gonna throw a leg over a bike because people will have him scared to death thinking it's his last day on Earth. If he feels comfortable without a bunch of equipment on his body, then that is gonna be his choice. I do agree that the more protection he wears, the better his chances of saving himeself and body parts he has. On a side note, I don't know HOW it's legal, but here in the state of Arizona, it is not a required law to wear a helmet at all. Seems completely stupid, as I have to wear a seatbelt. Why would a rider choose not to protect the most important piece of equipment on their bike, their head? Boggles me.... So your spine is not that important to you? If it breaks your dead and if you are lucky you will be paralyzed. Atleast wear a GOOD (expensive) jacket and helmet. Make sure the jacket has something in it to protect your back.
  20. Not really... It depends on how the motor topology is, some need the cooling vents to force the air thru them, sometimes the air needs to be forced out thru other holes.

  22. Why at .35 ohm? You like to break stuff? :s I mean the sub looks beast but it's just too much.
  23. he is talking about normal power and not overpowering. Pay attention...
  24. Don't worry about rise in daily situation. YOu need atleast double the power to hear a 'decent' difference in loudness so if you have 1000w out of the 2500w you will barely hear difference between 1000w and 2000w. The box won't have lower rise because it's more efficient, as skittles has said. A good designer will find the best balance, where the amp and sub and enclosure match eachother so they are more efficient all together.(i don't know if i explained myself correctly) haha me too thats the exact reason...its gonna rise above 1 no matter what so might as well compensate This is why a lot of people smoke amps.. It won't always rise above 1 ohm. Sometimes it goes down to 0.5ohm or lower...
