  1. I remember when I had 2 CVR's in a prefab linked to an Audiobahn HC1300 people kept trying to tell me I was gonna break glass. hahahaha And I think that car that the systems in says all you need to know about the video. lol
  2. They gave me an Infiniti FX when I wrecked my car. they had that as an alternative to the Town Car, they also had a Murano in the SUV class. Haven't personally experienced a Toyota as a rental car, but I've seen them on lots....mainly just Tundras, Camry's, Corollas, and an occassional Matrix. I agree with you on the looks of the brand new ones....especially the MDX and RDX, ugly as sin. The interiors are nice though. And they use the Accord for a base for design for the TL, so that's why it looks like it does. And ALL imports hold their value better than American, but Acura holds their value better than Lexus and Infiniti, at least that's what the books say. I will admit I haven't ever seen a Lexus on a rental lot, but I have had an Infiniti from Enterprise before. Haven't driven the CTS, so I can't argue back, but I bet you're right anyway. But in comparison to the STS and DTS, import equivelants have a little stiffer suspension. And it is partially the cushioning of the seats.
  3. I know what you mean. It's that american suspension. No stiff Jap suspension will be able to match comfort with it's american class.
  4. it still doesn't make sense to start a thread about it if you were 100% sold on finding a CTS. Psychology says he's looking for some input on if he's making the right choice, or he wants someone to give him a good reason not to get it.And resale value noted above is definitely a good reason not to get it. At least not until it's 5 years old, and then, what's the point. Imports hold their resale value so much better than American, plus with the situation their in right now, whose to say they're still gonna be around for 5 years longer. All that bailout did was prolong the wait time. Acura's hold their sale value better than Lexus and Infiniti because Acura/Honda's won't be bought and sold a year later by rental companies. I don't know much about German cars as far as a depreciation percent goes. Acura's your best bet.
  5. you could sell some ass on the street. Everyone likes some pretty little high school meat.
  6. I disagree, sir. If he 100% wanted a Caddy, he wouldn't have started this thread saying he was THINKING about buying a Caddy, it would've been more like "HERE'S my new Caddy!"
  7. they sent me "mystery shopping" as part of my training today....I found the most badass car at each place....dealership #1 had a Chrysler 300 SRT8, dealership 2 had a Grand Cherokee SRT8, dealership 3 had a Trailblazer SS. The 300 was the quickest. You hit the Dukes Of Hazard button and can do donuts for forever in a parking lot. The GC had the best tone, but was a little slower being an SUV, but was the most comfortable. The SS had that classic Chevy tone to it. but wasn't as quick as the 300, but a little faster than the GC. But the governor kicked in at 110. The 300 let me get up to 130 before it kicked in. Salesman rode with me all 3 times....I think one of them shat himself. But yeah, you should definitely go for the 300 SRT8. Badass car. about $25K.
  8. I just got hired as a salesman out here in KY and we have a CTS on the lot :D :D :D :D come out to the KY and buy from an SMD supporter! I'd suggest a G35x sedan, just because the depreciation in value doesn't have as big of a slope as American luxury. hey! whaddya know! we got one of those too Steve!
  9. was the $200 a week salary cancelled out by selling cars or did you get it whether or not you sold cars?
  10. every dealer is different. We have it setup that you get 25% commision. Meaning, say there's a 07 Nissan Altima on the lot with a sticker on it of $16000. You talk us down to $14000. Most people feel like they got a good deal then, which they did, but we paid $12000 for it at our dealer auction. So we made $2000 off of you. Of that $2000, I get $500. We also get an under the table check once a month for $100 for every car we sold that month, so if I sold 8 cars, I get a check for $800. ALSO have a weekly competition, whoever pushes the most cars gets $500, 2nd place gets $350, 3rd place gets $150. There's 8 salesmen total at our dealership. So if you're doing good, you're doing $$$GOOD$$$. lol
  11. It's not too bad. Our new car sales are WAAAAY down, but used cars (where I am) is apparently just as good as it was a year ago. It's down a little bit, but hasn't gotten any lower. Plus it's tax rebate season, so business should be up at least for the next couple months.
  12. I only leave it bumping at a light if it looks like a stuck up middle-aged guy that would've judged me whether or not I was bumping. Little kids and old dudes are a no-no tho, especially if your windows are down. I do make sure I turn it up if I'm behind family or ex's families just to annoy the shit out of them like I usually do anyway.
  13. that's pretty much what I'm hoping for for these times. Our lot is full of $9000-$18000 cars and we also sell new Pontiacs and Acuras.
  14. preachin to the choir man....I sent my resume to over 120 places before I got this one....from what I've been told by other dealers, the used car biz isn't doing as bad as the new car biz, just strictly because they're cheaper. They gave me some other reason too but I can't remember it now. They told me their average salesman pushes 8 cars a month, if I can push 6 or 7 a month 3 months from now I'll be happy. I've been living on under $10K a year for the past 4 years, so anything about that would be great.
  15. just scored a job as a used car salesman at one of the top 10 used car lots in the state, was wondering how many cars you other salesmen are putting out.....
  16. baby_got_backboard Cleverly Named Team Bobby Knight's Temper Control Rick Pitino's Expectations IU Recruiting Team ....that's all I could think of for now....
  17. drop it lower, then add a reserve for the absolute lowest you'll take. Seeing big numbers like that kinda scares away alot of people. And you are correct, most of the bidding happens in the last 24 hours, but if it's not up long enough for people to see, you won't have multiple bidders counting down the last hour trying to outbid each other. 5 days is a good length.
