  1. I was also curious on this. By setting the deck on it's maximum undistorted, would you get the same spot on the gain that the DD-1 detected? This would tell us just how accurate this JBL amp is at detecting distortion, but detecting anything after the deck that is....
  2. This is amazing for the people who want to stay factory but still be able to have some clean sounding bass! Thanks Steve,Tony, and Juan!
  3. If your looking to get out of a payment every month and the 8000 you owe, then I think it's hell of a deal. No more payments and you can always sell the beetle and save up for a cheap car.
  4. 1 thing I have noticed is some people don't have their SUB output up. If your head unit doesn't clip with max volume, I would leave it at max, then turn the sub output up until the distortion light comes on, or I think you leave the Sub output at max then turn the volume up until the distortion light comes on. Someone please correct me.
  5. lol. I have got some similar replies. Obvious scam... Ignore it.
  6. Well, most of us refuse help from unknowledgeable bass heads that think they know it all, but to them, we seem like the unknowledgeable... So there is no way to getting to them... Just let them learn their lesson I guess....
  7. I found this thread again. Somehow.... lol
  8. Wow, didn't even fully read it. Just seen the part "power supply" and thought it was good. lol Thanks for catchin that it was a charger. Guess I will keep looking. This seems a bit better. Just wish they weren't too big. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_22372_Pyramid_PS52KX.aspx
  9. Thanks and thanks again! lol Really appreciate this info. That's actually a good price for the amps. The only thing I might have trouble with is working it. I was looking at the data sheet and it looks very confusing. It also says it has "Built-in remote ON-OFF control". Not sure how to turn it off and on, as it seems it's triggered by a sensor? Yeah, they're not very user friendly. Its very configurable depending on how you want to operate it. In the datasheet, you see the terminals "RC" and RCG". Looks like you can just put a simple switch there to turn it on and off. This unit does have exposed AC input terminals so you'd have to be very careful to not leave those accessible. Maybe mount the PSU in a case or something. When you're all said and done, maybe one of the other commercial power supplys would be cheaper in the long run... True, I was thinking this 45 AMP Kinetik model. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34479_Kinetik-KIPS12-45.html
  10. I actually used 1 a few years back and I it wasn't that great. It cut out all the time. That's why I made this thread to try and do it right this time. Thanks and thanks again! lol Really appreciate this info. That's actually a good price for the amps. The only thing I might have trouble with is working it. 11. Ok thanks! Appreciate all the good info! Why would the Pyramid PS21KX (20AMP) cost more than the Pyramid PSV300 (30AMP)? Is the PSV300 something different? It says "Fully Regulated Low Ripple http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_22378_Pyramid_PSV300.aspx Sorry for all the questions. Trying to get it right the first time.
  12. Im kinda confused. You said it required an input of 382 watts. But the 20 Amp Power supply says its input is "450 Watts"
  13. Thanks for responding. So I am going to actually be running about 268 watts. I have a 200 Watt Fosgate Amp and a stereo that puts out 17 Wattz RMS via 4 channels. So would this put me at 19amps if I was running it full blast? 268W/13.8V = 19amps. Would I be able to get by with the "Pyramid PS21KX" 20 Amp power supply? It won't exactly be run full blast, it's just going to be a portable little system. Trying to keep it cheap as possible.
  14. I am looking on here: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/products/68/Car_Batteries_and_Accessories/12_Volt_Power_Supplies.aspx Each power supply is rated with a different "Amp". So what exactly is the Amp to Watts RMS Ratio? I am looking to run roughly about 300 Watts RMS for a small home setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  15. That kit is full of WIN! I want it! All I have is the DD-1.
  16. I',m Buzz. How ya doin drunk.
