  1. shoot, my dad is like this. he screwed up making mac and cheese the other day and got all pissy when i told him he messed up. said "well why dont you do it if your going to be such a smart ass!" and walked off. had a co-worker that got fired for PISSING ON THE TOOLS IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. also peed in a bucket of concrete. boss said it looked like a car litter box. and got mad AT ME for getting caught and being fired.
  2. dont they both have a few different models? how are we supposed to answer this question? its all preference. my friend likes harsh tweeters and i cant stand them. what one person likes more could be totaly wrong for what you like.
  3. yes, it can go over the mat. however spectrum is an underbody coat. you cant put anything on top of it but itll stick fine to the mat. i used it in my doors.
  4. well no shit 4/0 will have less resistance than 1/0. thats not even a question... thats the same thing as saying "4awg has more resistance than 1/0" its a given!! and if all the strands are touching then it acts like one piece of copper (as you put it) then the small strands would still be better because its more copper. you contradicted yourself in one post. and its not about resistance. if you care about the resistance of 1/0, or bigger, wire then youve never done the math. its all about how many amps you can run through it.
  5. only your presets or does it forget everything? eq settings, time?
  6. user error. buy a bigger amp. getting is fixed will cost more than what the amp is worth if it was working. check and make sure the amp didnt take the subs out with it. use a DMM and test them.
  7. so you would run 4awg to a 3000w amp?......... dont listen to this guy... run the 1/0awg to the amp. thats cause your getting a cheap amp. hmm... i think the train left you behind. smaller strands means less gaps inbetween the strands = more copper in the wire = less resistance. is it enough of a difference to really care about? no.
  8. yes this is better. this way is goes straight to the battery instead of through the wire, into the chassis, up to the front, through the front battery ground. remember, 12v isnt enough to run through your body. you will be safe, just make sure not to short out anything in the car.
  9. no... not really. just keep a close eye on you + wires. whenever you unhook them on one end, and the other end is connected to a battery, tape up any metal on the unhooked end. dont just trust that it wont touch metal. dont be afraid of sparks. it will happen. connect the + wire 1st then the ground.
  10. add the extra battery in the back and upgrade the front battery later. this way you have 2x the battery power. i would recomend running the battery grounds to eachother instead of to the chassis. but itll work either way. for your amps. just run a negitive and a positive from the rear battery to the amp. putting another fuse on the + wire that runs to the amp is a good idea. dont worry about your questions. we were all where you are at one point.
  11. gotta love stupid looking people getting punched in the face. lol he got hit so hard, his hat didnt even move to the side. it just fell straight down with the same spin the guys head made.
  12. wow you guys thread jacked this guy lol. OP - ok so your running your subs at 4ohms. the amp puts out "750w" but ill bet thats the max power. you never actualy reach max power. its more like the number the amp can reach just before blowing up. chances are it only puts out 350w so you only have 175w per sub. this might give you a good idea as to why your not as loud as you think you should be. invest in a REAL amp. if it doesnt tell you the RMS power, dont even look at it. while you wait for your new amp, read around on these forums. learn how to set your gains with a DMM so you dont blow things up when it arives.
  13. $10,000 budget and your box is uncovered and held on by straps? but alright, get some RE XXX 15"s
  14. wow... is this REALLY what people think of cops? if your cool about the situation, the cop probably will. i would bet that the only reason he didnt give you the ticket is because you turned it down when you saw him. all they ask is for you to not do it in front of them. i think melissa is just kissing up because i told her im trying to be a cop
  15. are you willing to double the power? DC level 4 xl's with 1500w to each. this question is asked almost every day, i wouldnt expect much responce. we are here to help but no one on here will do all the work for you. go do some research and make a list of 5 subs your interested in. post that list with more info on what you want out of the system, what kind of box your going to build, how much space you have, budget, etc. and more people will come in to help you pick from that list.
  16. very possible. ill shoot out a guess at... 138.3. now you have to give me a prize if im really close
  17. but this remote IS a gain knob. no need for the other remote. oh my god... did everyone skip over my testing? i found out why they had that power loss.
  18. not to confuse you more, but i would look into image dynamics IDQ. it gets fairly loud and sounds amazing. itll be the best sounding sub on that list. all depends on what your going for.
  19. please tell me you guys read my follow up... the remote helps a lot in bass race or if i want to go from max spl or turn it down for a little more SQ or when my parents are in the car so they dont bitch at me. i agree about not needing the bass boost. i dont have a use for it either. but this isnt about "what you like/dont like about the amp".
  20. did i ever say they didnt? now if he thinks they are the best subs and is going to pay a ton for them from a local shop, that IS a problem.
