oh, and the TV controls the volume.

the TV of course. it has audio out so it doesnt matter if its my xbox or cable box. all the sound that goes to the tv will play through this rig.

here it is, my almost free home theater setup. well, the audio side of it anyway. speakers from an OLD panasonic stereo - got for christmas when I was a kid. crescendo 6.5"s playing about 150hz and down at the moment - given to me for a shipping delay. sony 2 channel, 100w x2 - courtesy of auzzie386 earthquake 50w x2 - it was given to me broken and I fixed it up all the wiring I had laying around. before first I needed a switch to turn everything on so I opened up a power strip and added my own switch. now this turns on power to my battery charger and is the remote turn on for the amps. half way into it, just showing the battery and charger. it looks a little cleaner now. you can see the power strip all put together. the shelf I threw together. not powered at the moment but I'll either take out the crescendos for these or get another amp. yes, ziptied under my bed until I make a box for them lol. all finished. might stain the boxes and add a door to the amp rack later.

it's not just an output difference. the XP line is just bad ass. i love that the bearings are bigger and stronger. it means you can tighten the belt as much as you want, you wont hurt the alt. if you call and talk to DC they can, and probably will, go on for an hour about how much better the XP alt is lol.

i just set something up in my room. batcap 600 and a 6amp charger. the charger is automatic so itll float or charge depending on what it needs. I have one 2 channel powering a comp set and the charger doesnt go out of float mode. so thats 2 amps and its louder than my tv speakers, by far. oh and the speakers are 10ohm lol. you really dont need much power at all in a room. i took apart a power strip and connected my own switch to turn it on and off. i also connected the amp's remote to the switch. then the RCAs are just connected to the TV. now my xbox can be my movie and audio source. anything that plays through the tv plays through my setup. and the tv volume controls its volume.
