eh, i hate big builds with cheap ass equipment. you can get a pair of 12"s to a 150. its up to you what you want, a big build that you cant/wont want to change or a little setup that you can play with and make a bunch of boxes for. for me, i have learned a ton with my small sub setup and if i ever go super big i now know i can make it a lot better. but ive also spent a lot of money doing it this way. so each has its ups and downs. hope that helps.

exactly what i did. except mine didnt need to be painted.

anyone have an idea?

this might be it. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Your_windows_and_wipers_and_stereo_is_not_working_on_your_2000_Cadillac_Escalade_what_may_be_the_problem -
not to thread jack but did you see the build log? that pic isnt even close to finished. i go fairly step by step on the build log. piece of cake, the back seats fold down flat to the trunk correct? you can just take the top piece out and slide the box forward onto those seats. no heavy lifting on the side of the road. the tops that i made weigh about 5lbs each half, just guessing. and those are just 1.5" dowels with one screw holding them on. they arnt attached to the car in any way, they just fit tight. so again, its very easy to take out. it also doubles as an anti theft device if you leave it in all the time. keeps passers by from seeing you have a system. if you want help with any part of it feel free to pm me.

here is your answer for trunk space. its made out of apple ply. think its 1/2". the stuff is very light and very strong. its 2 panels so they are very easy to put in and take out. i had better pics but i cant seem to find them. might have some in my build log. i use that any time i need to use my trunk. you get to keep your bass and not have to worry about live speaker wires or any of that junk. just build a low/wide box and you'll have more room above it.

what do I need for my electrical?
skittlesRgood replied to zachhern1's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
x2 except you dont need 3-4 runs of 1/0. how much power can come from the front of the car? 300amp alt and a battery at most. 2 runs of 1/0 will do just fine. here is a good way to practice. to run 2 speakers at .5ohm you will need D2 coils. they can also be ran at 2ohms. start there and you wont have to worry about blowing a new amp while you play with it. once you feel you know what your doing, rewire to .5ohm. they guys are just telling you to be careful because you want to run an amp very hard and it leaves the margin for error very small. believe me, there is a good reason for that. if you cant afford DC look at mechman. -
14v battery with a 14v alt? youll fuck up the batteries like that. a 14v battery needs to be charged at 16v. just like a 12v battery charges at 14v

sounds like a loose connection. is it a stock hu? do the power windows and wiper stop working too or does the hu turn off when you use one of those? -

The Bass Monster

nice, yes. monster, epic... no. and i was disappointed after the "watch this". those dont move all that much. sorry, i would normally keep that to myself but when i see cockiness i see an invitation for bluntness. -

that would be a bass boost knob. some amps come with those and some come with a gain knob. if its a bass boost knob the definitely get the RCA knob. -
Whats better?

no they work the same way, you cant turn it past the amp's gain setting. they both cut power. -

rca. the knob that came with mine would make the subs pop when i moved the cord around inside the knob. with the RCA one you can add another amp and not have to worry about a knob. -
what parts fell off? pics would help. when i made my pods i used anything from superglue to CA glue. my parts only needed to hold until the 1st layer of glass dried so it wasnt very important.

the cheaper one is whats been proven. they have used that design for years. that other one is a new model. im sure its just as good, they say its even better. ive never owned a type R but ive heard SQ is pretty poor.

damnit, you people keep getting me all excited with great numbers then i find out its usaci scores. i mean those are still great numbers but not "drop my jaw, holy fuck, what are they doing that i need to learn" great as i thought when i read the OP. lol -
if you married one of these girls you would be her bitch. look at the biceps on those girls! lol. that was impressive, i dont know how the fuck they did some of those moves with no hands. i would be too impressed to be turned on if i saw one of them in a strip club.

lol no dude. understand what im telling you. you can install those 12"s and forever know what four 12" mtx's sound like. then later you get the 18" and forever know what that 18" sounds like. now you have twice the experience and can make better choices for yourself in the future. and no, i never traded 1 sub and sure as tell didnt go through the trouble of getting a sub only to get rid of it before i even tried it. if i didnt want the sub, i didnt get it. if i wanted a sub, i saved up and sold what i needed to get the one i wanted. the exact same advice i gave you. its pretty damn simple. i dont think i was being a jerk in my last post. just pointed out that it doesnt make sense and the right answer seems pretty obvious. if you just got the subs you said you really want you would be happier sooner. getting subs you dont know if you will like is just wasting your time. and by the way, im one of the helpful people on this forum. if you want to jump to assuming that i am a jerk and not understand im trying to help then i can just leave you to the advice of the other forum noobs that dont have experienced advice.

lol thanks probably the same as you have them now. that knob will just go in the middle of the rca wire that comes from the HU. it controls the voltage going to the amp. its the same thing as turning the gain up and down expect you cant turn it up past what you set your amps at. it can only cut voltage. same as any other gain knob.
-
so you traded your RE's for MTX so you could sell the MTX but you still cant sell MTX subs so you want to trade again before you even try them? build a box for those 12"s and see if you like them. if you dont, sell them on ebay or something and get what you really want instead of subs you know nothing about and have to come here and make the same threads about "what should i do". because you already know what you want. quit wasting time and make it happen.
