  1. He apparently didn't want to compete with it. lol
  2. Maybe you knocked a wire loose somewhere with the bass and now it's shorting lol no one ever said car audio was good for your car
  3. Everything looks fine, nothing is loose, nothing looks discolored. It's definitely putting out full power now, I can get it to bottom my sub at about volume 28-30, depends on the frequency. I think they just repaired it, some glue dripped, and they forgot to throw out the drips.
  4. Found the problem! I'm an idiot lol I don't know what I did, but I must have changed something in the head unit. I thought the max volume on the head unit used to be 25, but now for some reason it's at 35? Set the volume to 30 and made that 10" do some work! 30 seconds later and I started to smell coil so I turned the volume back down. I'm gonna need a second 10 to handle this thing now! Lmao Thanks guys, y'all can delete this thread so I'm not making Sundown/DB-r look bad lol
  5. I just purchased a refurbished SAE-1200D off of DB-r Electronics and it seems there might be a problem. (I ordered a v.1 but they sent me a v.2 (which is fine, better actually lol)) First thing I noticed after opening the box was that it sounded like a bunch of little pieces of something rattling inside of the amplifier. I shook it a little to see if I can get some of it to fall out to see what it was and a bunch of little pieces of what looked like dried hot glue were falling out of it. I already had my truck wired up for it so I put it in to test to see if it was still functional, and it seems to be putting out maybe half the power it should. I had my sub wired to 4 ohms to a "Boss 800W Max Amp" and it seems to maybe only get a little louder with the sub wired to 1 ohm to this amp. My question is whether I should call up Db-r and ask about them taking a look at it or maybe I might of messed up with the wiring and there are some things I should check out before I do that? I have it wired with 4awg wire to the batt and the frame of my mountaineer, with a 150A fuse at the batt. Maybe I'll try a different ground mounting point? It's stock electrical, but it doesn't seem like it's being strained, my headlights aren't dimming at all or anything. Sub level on my HU is 15/15 on an Alpine CDA 105. Sub is a TC Sounds Epic 10" Dual 2Ohm, voice coils wired in parallel, in a 2cu.ft. box. This amp should be able to rock this subs world.
  6. Make sure that in the headunit, Subwoofer is enabled, and the Subwoofer Level is at max. Bass level should be 0. Also, check to make sure your RCA cable is in the right input, and if your Headunit has multiple Subwoofer outputs make sure it is set to the right one.
  7. Sound proof the hell out of your car, so there is no resonance frequency.
  8. I'd like one that ran on a nuclear reactor so it didn't draw any power from my car but still provided trillions of watts... A little out of everyone's price range, eh? But on a more serious note, prolly everyone's fav's the rd t15k and dc 12k
  9. I was hyper, social, and a little trouble maker in the 1st grade. I am now mellow, I keep to myself, and I stay out of trouble. I am the opposite of what I was in the 1st grade.
  10. I wanna get solar panels when I get a house as well. Seems like a good investment.
  11. Happy birthday! I turn 20 in March, and boy do I hope it's better than my teens...
  12. Lol, infinite crab meats? My guess is that this should probably go in the random picture thread lol. Lol.
  13. I apparently need two new leaf spring shackles for my mountaineer... Anyone have a guesstimate as to how much that would cost?
  14. 12" SQ? You mean $500 for the driver? This should do the trick. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=293-658
  15. I'd agree with you Bangin but I'm unsure that the OP is willing to spend that much money of the components, those are easily 2x the price of the most expensive set linked previously.
  16. About to order the CDA-105, anyone have any objections? EDIT: Ordered, thanks guys. Next step is door speakers, in a few weeks.
  17. I can spend the extra $100 if it's worth it http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_500CDA9887/Alpine-CDA-9887.html?tp=5684 Edit: Actually it's not really worth it to me, I kinda liked the usb input on the other one.
  18. Does http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_500CDA105/Alpine-CDA-105.html?c=3&tp=5684&avf=N sound good? I can afford that prolly right now actualy, seems like it should be the first step. Here's what I got down so far: HU: Alpine-CDA-105 Front/rear doors: Rockford Fosgate Power T1652-S Amp for the doors: AQ1200D Sub: Fi Q 18 Sub Amp: Rockford Fosgate T1000-1bdCP - Might be too expensive tho That's basically the order I'll get them at, ofc I'll get the sub/sub amp at the same time.
  19. http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_57510001CP/Rockford-Fosgate-T1000-1bdCP.html?tp=115 Woah, that'd dip into the piggybank a bit lol.
