  1. check my sig, they get silly with some power, although i guess i wouldnt recommend it for extended periods of time
  2. some peoples systems get louder, some gets cooler. Alot of it depends on the type of build, and the magnitude to which the build is. Meaning that if you have a single 10 in a sealed box off 300 watts in a trunk will be less likely to be affected than say an extreme vehicle where the entire vehicle is the enclosure running thousands of watts. on another note, as the heat of the coil rises, the impedance also rises, reducing the power the amp is capable of making.
  3. try 2 things, ground your rca cables, it wont hurt them dont worry (ground the compression part of the fitting) another thing i would do is pull out your headunit and redo the ground yourself, make it a little beefy.
  4. split the difference, go with 4 of the sundown 3500
  5. 16 subs, 3 amps? just wondering how you intend on wiring that up. while using many amps looks cool, keeping things simple is usually your best bet. with 16 woofers, you dont need tons of power, let the cone area make you loud. i would go with the single 12K or 2 8K
  6. gotta love the "monster". I have talked to Paul from PAP a few times, he's seems like a good guy. For some reason, people seem to blow apart the triple joint on those woofers quite a bit. They do have some nice parts, they have a pretty nice 9" spider with sewn tinsels leads (tinsel leads are thick).
  7. if you like multi stcked mags, search for the Onyx monster. If i am remembering correctly, it had a shit ton of mags
  8. i dont see any resemblence to a mojo. it has a carbon fiber cone. (please people think about things before sharing). looks like a nice motor structure, standard 4 post basket, which is a solid basket. One thing i noticed about it, the surround is tiny, looks to be the size of what would be expected from a 400-500 watt woofer. it looks smaller than the original DD9500. For a woofer that size, a nice tall surround (DD) or a tall and wide (DC) would be nice to see. For $280, not a bad woofer. However, is it $280 US dollars or Euro's? And remember, shipping from Germany and import taxes will be expensive. If you buy it, please let everyone know what you think of it, with more and better pics
  9. i know their 500.1 is one of the most bullet proof amps on the market. i used their SQ6.5 coax speakers too and they sounded great especially for the money. They have alot of newer woofers now too, the XFL, the HD and the VFL are all top notch woofers. i dont have experience with their lower lines, but have heard them and once again, for the money they are a good deal. Sony xplode should never be said American Bass, its an insult
  10. I run 4K to mine, but i wouldnt reccomend to everyone. I have to REALLY watch what I'm doing, or poof (in this case it might be a loud poof)
  11. i have seen 1 8K do 6300 clamped in a street B setup with one battery at 1.2 ohm. This is quite a respectable number from one battery. They definatley do alot of power for a small footprint, the price is alot too.
  12. For batteries though, especially for that amp, 4 kinetik 2400's. I had 3 2400's on a AB 500.1 and you could see some voltage drop. Whenever i am deciding on batteries, what i do is get enough batteries to support the system standalone. I use my alternators as intended as a charging system. I have 2 ohio generator alts in my van, i only count on them to charge, not run the system. When you count on them to power the amps, you put such a load on them, they have a greater chance of burning out/ or at the very least, lower the life expectancy. Also with a higher demand from the alt, it will get hotter, which decreases its output. buy lots of batts, your alts and amp will like you for it
  13. those amps ARE NOT meant for daily use. they are so finicky, i fear even with a beefy power bank, it will pop on you. I have seen lots of them blow up for no reason. If you did not already buy it, i would into some of their other amps. This is not bashing hifonics/maxxsonics in any way. That amp can produce or 13K at 17V. It is stupid powerful, however, i have SEEN them pop just sitting there in idle (power on only).
  14. I have used both. In my findings, the DC was slightly louder on the mic, but not much difference to the ear. Saying that the size of the motor is bigger or smaller is irrelevant when they are to this magnitude. you could swap out a TRF into this mix (it having a HUGE motor) and your numbers could go down. Both are top notch. I run DC for a reason though.
  15. in my experience, the 4XL's can take the power. This i know from personal experience(see sig for details)
  16. As far as i know, Rusty is no longer selling batteries, and hasnt for a while. Look into kinetik or powermaster
  17. I will be there with the van-hopefully fully operational. but i will take another vehicle there even if the van isnt ready still, its just anopther excuse to get wasted and pound the beats
  18. first secret, is have tons of money for the neccessary equipment. Second, be prepared and willing for the bass to rip apart your vehicle. There are a couple guys that can bass race a 160 with a couple of 18's, but for the most part, we all have multiple woofers setups. As you can see in my sig, I have alot of equipment to get me there, but what you dont see is the 3 months to build with several people to help out. The 18 sheets of MDF and a few sheets of Steel Wood. Another thing to you dont wanna forget, is your vehicle suspension, your gonna spend some money there, i have spent about $600 so far and its still not to where I want it. I wish you all the luck, and there better be a build log
  19. are you talking about SPL or Bass Race??
  20. i had 2 targa 12's back in 1994. they were my first woofers, had them in a 1985 dodge daytona. didnt even have a license yet. they are cheap entry level woofers at best by todays standards.
