  1. 1 18" has about the same cone area as 2 15's? i dont think so. especially with the the kickers being square. cone are of one 18" = 254.47. cone are of 2 15" = 353.43. and that's a round sub, so kickers would have more cone area being square so imo...the BTL definitely has potential to get much louder, but given that you're going to have the same power, and drop in cone area, that it wont be louder. but then again the type of enclosure also comes into play. 80% enclosure, 20% build
  2. yeah doesnt look bad from the pics. i got it going around my window lines on my X
  3. not the best, but it's not bad either. kinda like it
  4. yeah i would definitely look around before droppin cash on some JL. they're not bad by any means, just priced high and i'd rather get more for my cash.
  5. damn looks like you're all set up for it now. i'm still tryin to get the saturday off work
  6. i bet the fish was dead on the bank when you found it!! nah jp grats on both
  7. sounded too much like P.I.M.P from 50 cent imo. and omg...can it get ANY worse? there's a crank that (batman) from some other group. saw em on tv. wtf...
  8. check my build, i used the grommets the first time around. need to use some on both sides where you're puttin it. second time around i double layered the back side where the amps went, and put 6 layers of fatmat between the sheets of wood. the inside is braced nice and sexy on the inside also.
  9. lol well there ya go live and learn. experience is the best teacher
  10. yeah, re running looks like your best option to get that switch in there. shouldnt be too hard, at least it's a thin wire
  11. lol yeah, never thought to ask if he already had the remote wire already ran through
  12. instead of running the remote wire to the amp, you can take that wire and run it from your fuse box. you just need to find a fuse that comes on when the car is on, and turns off when the car is off. not one that is turned on while the car is on AND off. that way when you turn the car on, it'll send the signal to the amp and it'll power on. that's how i've alwas done mine. then just run the switch the same way.
  13. still helpful, say if somethin starts acting up back there and you are on the road and need to cut the power in a hurry, just hit the switch. i have one going to both my amps just in case of an emergency...never hurts
  14. what he said...run a wire from the remote wire on the H/U to a toggle, then to the amp. if that's what you're trying to do that is
  15. are you just trying to put a power on/off switch on the remote wire?
  16. i think a general rule of thumb is to set your lpf to about 10 under what your box tuning is. so yours looks set too high
  17. damn 6 or 7 inches? we're gettin some massive rain in the northern KY area. grats on your laptop workin too. i know i'd be damn happy that's for sure
  18. nice addition. i hope to be able to post in here one day

  22. wow...i will put that into consideration
  23. NOOOOO! lol another new box. 12 cubes? that's like bare minimum. how you think that'd sound? and they're D1. my plan was to eventually get 2 more saz-3000d's and run them at .5 ohms on each sub. but...the way things are lookin, that's gonna be a long way from now
  24. lol. music is a must for me. i was hopin to get a 150 on music, or at least damn close to it. but looks like my chances may be slim...
