This is where you need the amps you are using to have the crossover freq options you need. The tweets on hp for sure, the mids can be set on hp as well, but it would be ideal to bandpass them (cut them off where the tweeter takes over, otherwise, whats the point of the tweeter?). The way you are thinking for the 8's is fine.

You won't like the price, but the ZED Leviathan 6-channel is a kickass amp for what you want to do. It has all the built in crossovers for your midbass, midrange, and tweeters. You could use two amps like you stated, but must make sure they have the crossover settings you will need. UNLESS, you have a separate processor, but then you are looking at more money for that.

Naw, there's audible distortion on a few tracks, vocals and instruments. There are a couple songs I really like, but can't turn it up too high.

Front mount is more effective. Definitely replace the piping. Why is the motor built and the turbo still stock? I say baby it until you can afford to replace it all in one shot.

Look legit to me. They are the older model, but should still sound awesome.

its cause we love you, and we want you to get back on track with the wall. well thats my reason. imo you could try turning your radio to the off/standby position before turning the car off. because what COULD be happening is this: your car hits the accessory position, sending the signal for the HU to turn on, which pulls for the ipod connection which is interrupted by the car going from accessory to the start position, possibly disrupting the ipod send/receive connection, misinforming the HU that the ipod is ready when in fact it isnt ready to send signal. food for thought? Doubtful. I say that because this has never happened. And I went out to check it a couple times, no issue. I think it was a loose usb cable.

Thanks guys. It only did it the one time, but i'll swap cords. I love this about SMD, post a problem, and within 10 minutes its solved.

Makes sense I guess, deck has the USB on front, something I'm not used to. Probably it.
