Yes I did not, and I doubt he did. The deck was in his car and it would do the same thing. He suspected his amp and even sent it in for repair. They found nothing wrong(duh). He got a new deck, and is letting me borrow this one. Cmon bro, you know better than that. People never do that! Its always the manufactures fault for when something blows like the pico fuse, or anything else that may happen from ground out the rca's.. LoL I'm not that guy. And I don't think I placed blame on any manufacturer. The deck is 4 years old, I was only asking to see how easy it would be to fix.

Possible. I don't know what would cause that, but it can be annoying. Especially when some dumbass pulls up with his distorted stock system at full volume. Go to blast him, and there's "quiet" bass.

Anyone ever have this issue? When I change tracks, sometimes the bass just isn't there like it should be, even on songs I know are loud. It will stay that way for a random number of songs, then the bass is back again, for a few songs. Its done this in two different vehicles with different amps. Only thing I can figure is the rca output is fading in and out. Oh, its an Alpine 9885.

What amp are you using. Most clip lights are not very accurate. Might be the reason DC chucked the knobs with the clip lights. Set it to the DD-1 all day, everyday. @Toad559: I asked about clipping being there without distortion. Steve himself answered, a very long technical answer, and it won't happen. Set it with the dd-1 and forget the clip light, even put a piece of electrical tape over it.
