    Could be, if a line comes completly off the fitting or breaks, you'll get the problems you're having. Cheaper to fix than a sensor, too.

    I always ground everything seperately (may be an OCD thing), can't guarantee it will fix it, but it won't hurt to try it.

    Try grounding it seperate from the other accessory wires you attached it to. Might help. Also recheck to see that your RCAs aren't around other wiring causing the interference.

    Don't know much about GM, but its gotta be one of the sensors or the computer itself. Fuel mixture is off somehow.

    Most local shops have very basic knowledge. Not all but most. To them its just sales. Help your friend out, I'm sure you can figure out how to make it bang with the help of th epeople on this site.
