  1. Go to a local fabric store and pick some up. It's much cheaper that way. I got a 5 pound bulk box at Hancock Fabrics for about $20.
  2. inch^3 means cubic inches, not square inches. There are 1728 cubic inches in one cubic foot. So your sub displaces approximately .288 cubic feet of air.
  3. Assuming you use 3/4" MDF, you could get a maximum 7.33 cubic feet in that car. Do you have any specs on the sub (I'm to lazy to look them up)
  4. Didn't know that. Is there any way to keep thieves out without shaving the door handles? Sorry to thread jack. Sorry your stuff almost ran off with someone else.
  5. Hey Steve, is the rear door 1 piece or 2? I was thinking you could mount some amps on it. If it's 1 piece, you might be able to fit at least 2 amps there, maybe 4 if your creative.
  6. Ok. 2,000 watts at 12.8 volts. So, 2,000 watts / 12.8 volts = 156.25 amps. 156.25 amps * 14 volts = 2187.5 watts. Like I said, this is based off of what was said above. Plus the higher the voltage, the higher the output. And one more thing, this is not perfect, the amperage changes with the voltage. It usually goes up. I'm not sure how much and can't calculate how much. So the above is an absolute minimum.
  7. LOL, I'm somewhat of a math geek. But of course, I based the math off of the 2000 watts @ 1 ohm that I read above.
  8. According to my math, they sould do just under 2200 at 14 volts even @ 1-ohm.
  9. You do not want to use a circuit breaker. Each time they trip, the tripping mechanism wears down and eventually gives out. When that happens, it will quit tripping and catch fire.
  10. Here's your answer: assuming the amps are class D 10,000 watts / .7 = 14285.71 watts. That's the required input for a 10,000 system. 14285.71 / 12 = 1190.48 amps. That's how many amps you need to power your system for 1 hour. You should think about quad alts like Steve did. And possibly 5 or 6 more batteries.
  11. So you need a charger that outputs between 250 and 500 amps. That's a lot of power. I'll keep searching, but I've never seen one. Does anyone else know? Sorry I can't answer your question. Unless you want to buy a dozen of these: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17672_...+KHC+3800-.html LOL, j/k.
  12. Read my first post above. I used 36 inches wide by 15 inches high to obtain the third dimension (depth). Doing so won't allow you to use the port up.
  13. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#top I use this calculator, but some people have different preferences. And I can't take credit for those rules of thumb. I learned them here from other members. Thanks to those members for being helpful! You can make just about any port design you want, just as long as it has the needed area.
  14. With the dimensions you gave, you can only get 2.5 cubes of space and you would have to build the box inside the trunk. Edit: I noticed you said the OPENING depth is 8". Can you get the overall depth of the trunk? Depending on your port design, location, etc., you need a minimum depth of 15.5 inches.
  15. If your subs neen 3 cubic feet of airspace per sub, then you need at least a 6 cube box. The 5 cube box will hold them back. The recommended port area is 12-16 square inches of port per cubic foot of airspace.
  16. I have the Blackberry... uh, the one that flips. I think it's the pearl. I can view the forum just fine.
  17. I suggest adding a second or third battery. Unless you don't have the money. I have never seen chargers larger than 100 amps. How much power are you running?
  18. This solar panel: http://www.amazon.com/Northern-Industrial-...1747&sr=8-2 I know it's big and powerful, but price per watt, they are the cheapest available on amazon. And this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=38391 Both will help keep your batts fully charged.
  19. Walmart can surprise you sometimes. Someone came into the grocery store where i work one time. He had some loud beat and was running 2 walmart Sony 12"s in sealed boxes. It wouldn't make anyone bail, but when he rolled down his windows he could get our store windows vibrating. One time just for the hell of it, I bought some walmart 6x9s and a walmart amp. I fit it all into a backpack (no kidding) and powered it off of a small deep cycle battery about the size of a lawn mower bat. I forget the capacity, but it would power the system for about 4 hours. I used a 3.5mm to RCA adapter to run it off of my ipod. I even added an Ipod charger to it and still got nearly 4 hours out of it. It was somewhat loud and hit the lows pretty good.
  20. I had someone else recommend that card on another thread. I have not found too many bad reviews for them. Do you have any better recommendations that don't cost more than $90? As for graphics, I don't plan on playing to many videos or graphics intensive games. I'll be fine with the onboard video.
