  1. Love it! How's it running? 2 monitors and such? I love that gut shot. I need to take a newer pic of mine.
  2. What's your budget? What else is in the car for audio? Would you be powering them off the head unit or be using a separate amplifier? FOR EVERYONE ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT SOUND QUALITY "Sound quality" is relative. I realize "SQ" is hard to find on a budget and harder to find with speakers like 4x6 and 6x9. Give the guy a break. That means you, hdorre.
  3. Gameboy WAS the shit. Still got my OG lime gree color hanging around. Now that everyone has smartphones and iPod touches and stuff handheld consoles are on their way out. Even for kids now an iPod touch or iPad has everything they want. Some MAJOR innovation is going to have to happen if they want to stick around.
  4. I was headed into mechanical or electrical engineering until I realized Calculus sucked balls. I was good at it, i just didn't like doing 50 HW problems a night. Felt like busy-work just repetitively doing problems. So now I'm headed into the IT/networking field.
  5. link worked. I love Rube Goldberg machines!
  6. Guys, he's the audio master. Show him some fucking respect. He clearly knows what he's talking about here or he wouldn't be the master.
  7. I'm assuming you got the pictures off Kenwood's online store but in case you didnt: BLUETOOTH MIC: $26 WIRELESS REMOTE: $36
  8. I know Comcast caps us at 250GB at our house which is absurd, even for the 4 people we have living here. Unless you're downloading/uploading a TON of stuff or doing something bandwidth-intensive like gaming or heavy streaming then anything over 50GB data cap is usually way more than enough. Most people don't even go over 1 GB on their phone a month for data but the restriction there is that a lot of people are smart enough to hop on a wi-fi network when possible. It'd be safe to say that most people would find it hard to use more than 20 gigs by themselves in a single month by just browsing and doing email and such. Downloads and streaming are what take up the most data generally.
  9. It's honestly enough for everyday stuff nowadays. Computing hardware is well above and beyond most people's needs and beyond what software demands. Most software is STILL designed to be comparable with WinXP systems, as it controls over 45% of the market share. Given that most XP machines run half a gig of ram and a Pentium 4, the goal is to make software do more while being less demanding. Was he using this machine to game on (which all the other components definitely are targeted towards) or for some other graphics-heavy task then I'd say yeah, get a dedicated card. But when the HD 2000 graphics on the i5-2400 nearly match the GT 520 and the HD 3000 graphics on the i5-2405S perform better than the Nvidia card, it's honestly a waste of $50. You could argue dedicated memory on the graphics card but he has 16GB of DDR3. Integrated graphics are fine.
  10. Love love love mine. Use them for both Xbox and PC gaming. They sounds quite nice on music too. Definitely a much better gaming experience with the surround sound.
  11. There's not going to be much in terms of "integration" with the Bose systems. It's basically a rip-it-all-out-and-replace-it kinda deal.
  12. I dont play any games, the card is fine. If it's not for games then why spend the extra $55 to get the card? Intel's HD Graphics 2000 will handle nearly everything that card will. Grab a H67 or Z68 board that uses the onboard graphics and ditch the GT 520. http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-LGA-1155-Motherboards-P8Z68-V/dp/B005UDITT6/ref=sr_1_4?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1326032596&sr=1-4 The Z68 chipset supports all the features of P67 but includes the onboard graphics support plus a few other features. VGA, DVI, and HDMI out on this board. It's $11 more but you're saving $40 over buying the video card. Only trying to help. I have dual monitors. could I use the hdmi and dvi on the motherboard at the same time? Yup. Z68 allows up to 2 independent monitors off the integrated graphics. HDMI + DVI would be no issue.

  14. Oh, missed this earlier. More detailed wiring scheme. The amplifier will run each of the 4 channels to a crossover. Wire each amplifier out to the crossover's TWEETER IN connection. There is a switch that says "BI-AMP". Flip that to OFF. No need to split wires or anything weird. Then wire the woofer to the WFR OUT and the tweeter to the TWT OUT.
  15. You would wire from amplifier out to crossover in. Then the crossover gives you independent woofer out and tweeter out. EDIT: Yes, one channel from the amp to each crossover.
  16. A "set" would be 2 tweets and 2 woofers, one per "side". Each "side" gets 100rms from the amp. The crossover sends all notes below 3000hz to the woofer at their full 100rms. It also sends all notes over 3000hz to the tweeter at their full 100rms. Thus, both speakers get 100rms, just over different vocal ranges.
  17. The GT 520 is a horrible card. You'll want something in the GTX 560+ or Radeon HD 6850+ range to compliment the other components in this build. The GT 520 isn't much more than Intel's built-in graphics.
  18. http://secondskinaudio.com/products/AlphaDamp.php http://secondskinaudio.com/vibration-mat/damplifier-pro.php Please, for that poor vehicle's sake, deaden those panels. Looks like tinfoil being waved in front of a fan. Ready to tear apart.
  19. What are you doing on it? If it's for Facebook and this forum and YouTube videos and porn just get a $500 Windows desktop and a nice $200 1080p monitor and get the same performance as the $1699 iMac for half the price.
  20. Well shit. i realize now that nobody picked up on my blatant sarcasm. Should have put a few and s after that. My b, my b.
  21. I like this idea. Flip a coin. If you have any hesitation with the answer it gives you then pick the other one because that's the one you wanted anyway.
  22. I will personally attest to the newer "stock" (unmodified) SSD's taking a clean 1200 watts easily with no stinky-ness and the older SSD's (rated at 800 watts) with the flatwound coil taking the better part of 1000 with no issues. In my opinion Fi makes some top quality subs and I'll continue to suggest them to friends who are looking to put some junk in their trunk. Yes, Fi woofers are built to order. It's like a hamburger at 5 guys vs a hamburger at McDonalds. Both are "fast food". One's made to order. One's been sitting there for a while. I'm not saying that Fi's any better quality. I've never ran any AQ equipment (I'd love a 2200 though). Facebook doesn't use HTTPS by default either (unless you tell it to) and MILLIONS of people have used their credit cards on their site for apps and games. Your arguments are now invalid. Useless post is useless.
  23. What if one wheel powered the electronics and the extra 3 powered the motor? Then what if they made a solar power unit built into the entire roof to help with the motor or electronics? It's like an everlasting charging station on wheels!!! Solar Prius?
