  1. I see an opportunity for mobile advertisement for SMD products, J/S, since it's not a daily driver, and just a comp van lol. I really dont want to sound like i'm jockin their style, but something along the lines of the SoundLabs van? Open the back doors and see a sweet ass amp rack, and a place for demoee's to be sitting in the back with TV's and such lol. But this is Steve's van and he will build something sick as hell like always! can't wait to see everthing!
  2. other then mounting the bass-knobs and a few other little trinkets, this build is done. What update did you want? thanks! That's awesome that its complete! I just got so caught up in all the fab work and such that i guess i was thinkin it'd keep on rollin or you'd do pillars or something lol. Any plans for the ATV for Chicken?
  3. Builds lookin sweet man! Too bad that it's been a month since any updates lol but you have a life outside of building and construction and such so it's understandable lol. hope to see/hear more about this soon tho! Great job on all this!
  4. Dude, it's a Meade build, i don't think the console could even stay in the upright position when he's driving the car! if ya know what i mean! Edit: just realized it's an arm rest hahaha my bad
  5. LEDs look like some off ebay i found from a seller Jaydencar08. Got some different kinds of LEDs off him before. Been meaning to get more.
  6. Lol i didn't know there was a such word as "tooken"! just bustin ur chops lol Yeah i know a few ppl in the pawn business, and they know the retail and resale value for things, and she probably called around to a few places to see how much it'd be to repair everything and figured she'd get off a lil easier by having someone she knew do it in trade for some subs. but hey, as long as ur happy, no one got taken advantage of!
  7. Great audio builder, even better dad...I thought you only had a son? But hey, that's awesome you put off this build (even for a little), esp knowing how excited you are for it, to spend time with your daughter that stopped by! That right there is the definition of a true MAN
  8. Lol Ok gotcha! haha lucky ass! even if they turn out to be paper weights, you got some good lookin ones there for free a true a true audio-head's paper weights lol
  9. Well just because it's an over sized screen doesn't make it bad, the company that makes them does. Power Acoustik (ya some will hate me for saying this and even contradict me) makes some good units (single din w/ over sized screens) A buddy of mine has one and it's bad ass honestly, good sound, great picture, easy to use menu. And lots of outputs. As for speakers, i've heard Planet Audio makes good budget speakers as long as you dont plan on running them non stop competition style lol, also AudioPipe is another decent brand.
  10. PRCavy from another forum i'm on has a TView flip out dvd player and 2 TView headrest monitors. He said they're not too bad for what he uses, but doesn't use them a lot, mainly for show i think. And there's no way that thing is worth $900 originally, you can find WAY better brands for WAY cheaper than that "MSRP" if you go on C/L you'll find a unit on there for around the $300 mark. It's marked up so you THINK you're getting a way better deal. If you see a unit, esp w/ no high end name, for that high and at a markdown that much, there's a reason behind it.
  11. How'd you get them for free if you paid the guy for everything?
  12. See i saw some people say cut it up and apply where needed, but my question has always been, what do you do w/ the cut up scraps? keep em for other areas, or toss em? i figure use a whole sheet, that way you dont throw away money
  13. what's your H/U watts compared to your sub out watts? or does your unit have a rear out
  14. A big matter is, the brand/level you got. That determines the aluminum thickness and the butyl thickness, which in turn would help dampen immediate and surrounding (not much, just an inch or 2) area of metal.
  15. If i buy another Vega, and i wire them to run in series then parallel at 2 ohms to another amp, will it just be 500watt (250rms combined) or would i possibly get more out of it? I know by running it in series i already cut down the watts even though it is bridged. So i was thinking if they're both in series then ran in parallel to the amp, i'd get more true RMS, but i just want to confirm.
  16. searched the net a lil and found my answer (who'da thunk it that research provides results haha) when wiring in series you wire one coil pos to one coil neg, then the other poles go to the amp, this doubles the ohms, but if you wire it in parallel pos to pos to amp and neg to neg to amp, this cuts the ohms in 1/2
  17. Ok thank you for the answer! i dont mean to sound dumb with it, but this is my first decent sub and i dont wanna eff it up. How would i be able to get more power outa this thing, if possible? and would wiring it in parallel (im assuming parallel is one coil neg to 2nd neg then to amp and positive to positive to amp) turn it to 1 ohm? i'm just curious for when i upgrade my amp and get another vega.
  18. I just bought a Cerwin Vega dual 2ohm 12" sub. I currently have a Jensen 70x2@4ohm and 300x1@4ohm bridgable. The guy from California Customs said to hook the negative from one coil to the pos from the other coil, and then with the other neg and pos posts run them to my amp bridged like i have. But wont this fry the amp (or even worse the sub, it was $100 for some that's not much but it is to me) if it's a 2 ohm sub (i thought 2 ohms bridged is 1 ohm)? I had the system playing and it's loud as hell now...i like it, eventually i'll get something harder but this is good for now. Any ideas? thanks!
  19. Thats the fuckin truth right there. I had so much more money to play with in Highschool. Looks like you're off to a decent start. Get that back battery secured and fused up. x3. High School was the life, easy to get money when your a old senior. like i was. mad ebank and got al my shit. now im scraping together for wire ahahha ^x4 on the bangin on a budget x2 on the scraping together for wire comment...lol never had a car in H/S to build on, was driving my parents, had a kid right out of h/s and 2 more after that and i'm only 24 with a lot of bills lol so it's my fault. But tuned into this build for sure!
  20. That's a personal upgrade on it's own...i'm still living with the parents because all the places around me are out of my price range basically...but i do pay them rent lol. congrats on the move!
  21. to see what members used from this site to build their system...hence a build topic in the build section. Ok...i'll give you some credit to this tho, it didn't start out as that, but it's what it turned into because after hearing the first few posts i was kinda intrigued to see what people actually buy from there and where they run it. i'm not on here to start bad blood (even some ppl are being jerks about it), kinda like a supply build log. Maybe people can update this when they buy something new from them. orrr, they will go to the audiosavings section like everyone else who buys something from them? your right...i apologize. i couldn't find that section, but it was in a diff part of the site. my bad
