    14" tall edit this is 3 cubes @ 31 hz... a little excessive for 1 12 but it will work considering the small amount of power you have. you can upgrade to 2 12's in the future and keep this same box if you want.

    geezus people stop suggesting those over priced shit-cell batteries. OP: look for higher AMP HOUR ratings and COLD CRANKING AMPS. these 2 numbers in conjunction will give you your longevity of use between charges. Get an AGM (Abosorbed Glass Matte) battery, they're great applications like this as well as in the cabin of vehicles. >> take a look at the deka intimdator on remybatteries.com i think they're 189 plus shipping for 100AH and something like 800 CCA.

    "higher line" ? then he'll run out of money trying to power it all. 2 subs + amp + box + wire + second battery + expanding foam and other things to finish the install/seal it from the trunk/make it look good . shit adds up quick.

    LOL. if you got good ANTIVIRUS, and run things like ad-aware, and thinks like this still happen. your RAM could have bad sectors. Can you burn a disc and do you know how to boot into a live disk (like installing windows in the old days or using a linux live disk) ??

    NO, i mean the lower you tune, the longer the port, the longer the port the more displacment, the more displacment the bigger you need to make the box to make up for it.

    get torre's box calculator, shoot for 30-35 hz range, you won't notice a big difference between say.. 31 and 34, if any at all. Just remember, the lower you tune, the more box you need. Also, 12-16 square inches of port per cube so. 24-32 square inches for a 2 cube box and so on.

    well. 1 sheet of wood costs $25-$30 just try it and see if you like it. If you don't, it's not like you trashed your old box.

    2-2.5 cubes after displacement for 1 12 is fine, hell I've ran 2 12's in 2.5 cubes with great results.

    Back in the old days, people would paint their cones to change the moving mass, affecting the FS of the sub. These days, you would just choose a speaker with the FS you're after. Now as far as painting for cosmetics... eh.. you could try some of the interior paints. Like the ones you would use to redye plastic and vinyl pieces in your car.

    I'd get an extra battery just in case. you're talking about 250-300 amps of draw with a 180 amp MAX alternator. Your under hood battery will hate you. A single extra battery withing 5 feet (wire length) of the amps would help you out. Look for something around 100 AH like this > Battery Link
