  1. He's using Elemental designs eD Eu-700's (6.5"woofers) they're called 7kv.2's now http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_i...;products_id=33 Love the install. Been through it THOROUGHLY. Have all the build pics on my harddrive next to GP2K2's stuff. Excellent work deserves the company of excellence.
  2. Well yea a pic would help in this case (pending you can draw better than explain) What you said would require 2 sets of comps on each side to make a "V" with the midwoofers.
  3. We all know this aint the loudest but it's pretty pimp nonetheless. Voltage FTMFW. Nice glassed out box. (GP2K2?...You got some splainin to do) 24V. THIS is just bad-frickin-ass Ok dis one in spanish too- Underbody lighting Blue headlights Audio and video custom graphics... Too bad it says Nelly and is all girly but damn still.... <--jealous. I know theres tonns more but Im done. And getting more bitter by the clip. damn kids.
  4. hahahhahahaa No spanx. U need NV dude. or a better camera? My pop's has an old sony handycam/cybershot vhs dealio w/ NV mode. Welcome to S. (uck) Dakooota I guess.
  5. That right there is why I am a member of this forum and post.period. I am a member on pretty much every audio forum out there...but I wouldn't get involved in HS drama/BS/flame war crap that is rampant everywhere else. That and I can actually drive to Steves house for a demo if need be.
  6. Yes In a perfect world, all 8's would have mags on em that put most 12's to shame...but $$$ is an issue here as it would be in my choice. Lets try to throw out the lower/mid priced stuff since he kinda already vetoed the $$$ subs. If I was doin a "crazy 8's" setup I think I'd run either the AudioQue's, AA's, or DD's but they're all a lil $$$-might be better off with some 10's or a single 12 at that point...maybe more cost effective.
  7. Yea I was totally wating for EVERYTHING to just crash down from the shelves and just barely noticed some "swingage" on the left wall. Too much stuff "balanced precariously" in my garage it'd all come crashing down if anybody over 140db let er rip in there. Nice too see you got ur werk area all tidied up tho. HOOK UP A SPACE HEATER AND GET GLASSIN FOO! (If you make a lil "oven" and just bake w/e u got it works ok-thats how I had to build that "eggman" sculpture project from last winter)
  8. 2 sets on the front 2 channels, 1 set on the rear channels. ta-da
  9. Very old. but very funny.
  10. HAHAHAHHAAA. "And the award for most random video goes to.....This^Guy" You're a strange breed there buddy. Good thing you can build and glass and do all kinda cool shit to make us love ya anyhoo hahahahaha.
  11. well those dimensions give you almost 5cft...but thats prolly exterior so i'd say u got at least 3-4cft internal. The box I did for those 4-cvr 8's was a lil under 3cft internal. should work pretty well.
  12. I'd say 4 AudioQue SD2 8's off 1000rms would be craaaazeee. and fun http://www.audioque.com/aq/SD2_Series.htm I can vouch PERSONALLY for the CVR 8's, but there are BETTER out there if you wanna max out that sub setup (4-8"woofers). http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=8190
  13. Powerbass extreme 12. $200+ shipping. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=3458
  14. There is no "all-in-one" tutorial that I'm aware of. But the info is ALL out there, more everyday. From the beginning.... http://www.bcae1.com/ http://www.caraudiohelp.com/ http://www.the12volt.com/ http://fiberglassforums.com/ http://www.caraudio.com/ http://www.av123.com/ http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=800857 And you're already HERE (SMD).... Anything else?
  15. The littler guy has heart i'll give him that. but not much smarts the way he keeps at it when the other guy is done...more than once too. sad all in all. on many levels. Reminds me of "The Black Knight" from Monty Python & The Holy Grail. (google it/youtube it)
  16. Dude that is pretty siiiick I must admit. Props to whoever's that is. nice find.
  17. SMALL world man. I just...(YESTERDAY) heard about this from a customer of mine. I've never (knock knock knock) had an incident like that but I guess if you have or think u might, that would be $$ well spent.
  18. Get a cat. http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=d71a3142.flv
  19. Dude thats pretty siick. There's a Ct here in my Hood called Agena Ct and it's on the news every year-everyone on the court sets up some pretty crazy lights and runs em for like 2 months staright for folks who wanna go light watching. I noticed it said tune to 105.1FM on that sign does that mean (as I'd guess it does) it's using that station as it's audio? cuz dude-If THATS the case!!! You gotta roll the Cavi down there and make the muzik for them FOR REALIO!!! hahahaha. Lil drummer boy at 150db son!
  20. I am doing it the same "ghetto" way, which is fine as long as you're careful. Most Home Audio recievers, be it a Boom box/shelf system or Higher end rack mount component are rated between 6-12ohms, not usually meant to be driven into lower impedences like car audio. I have an AIWA shelf system that is 300watts total for all the speakers. The nice part about a shelf system is it's all self contained and "all in one" rather than needing a radio reciever, cd player, tape decks, amp for highs, amp for lows, etc. The downside is just like a car audio setup-when they combine components (i.e. tuner/reciever+power+cd player) the quality of each is sacrificed. That said-the easiest way to go about it is find yourself as high-powered shelf setup/boom box that you can, and make sure it has line level outputs to its speakers. Line level just means raw wire for pos+ and neg- so you can run you own speakers w/ out having to dissect the Home audio style RCA's. On my Aiwa it has rca's for the mids and surround speakers so I just left those as they were and the mids get plenty loud but the crappy 7" subs that are built into the 3 way boom box speakers suck balls so I ran the wires for those to a pair of Kicker Comp VR 12's. Normally those 2 sub channels are 80watts rms at 6-ohms each, but since I have them hooked up to 4 ohm subs (one per channel), each sub should be seeing about 100rms each and they get SILLY loud for only 2 12's. They are however in the confined space of my bedroom. Hope that helped how this kinda setup runs. Nice lookin box Gmonk. Gotta love that fleckstone finish.
  21. Damn, sorry to hear it bro. It's those "lil wakeup calls" that keeps us safe (and respectfully "scared") around our powertools. I literally give my chetto lil table saw a middle finger salute after I "beat it"/ "cheat death/injury" by doing something stooooopid like taking the rip fence off, cutting a piece thats too long for the table, or using the blade as a grinding wheel on a small piece of mdf. Like GP said take some time to recover and def make a router table-handiest thing I've done in quite a while and helps tonns on any kind of circle cutting be it rings or otherwise. It's nice to pivot the wood around the router rather than try to push the router along the piece your working on. Guess all the Gamers get a slight break from Meade's wrath too while his hands all thrashed haha.
  22. Walkin in circles...? Rabies? I dunno if I'd eat any parts of that fella.
  23. I would do some kind of custom logo there-like if you have a "shop" name or your nickname or something like that in plexi and light the edges with LEDs. Maybe a big BMW logo? Or a Nice Polk or RF logo in there etched on some plexi or in vinyl sticker on plexi? there are tonns of possibilities. Or maybe some SCREENS if you have $$$ to blow on em-I'm not a big "screen" guy but I have seen some nice clean setups w/ a 7" or so screen in each door angled in and glassed nicely.
  24. I see. well a better lighted view of it would be coo but no rush. Duals? You mean the brand? or just that there are 2 12's? I wouldnt doubt 2-12's gettin a real 250rms in ahouse would slump- I'm running 2 Kicker CVR 12's (older version) off 100rms each-one in a BIG bandpass and the other in a med sealed box and it shakes EVERYTHING and is audible from down the street. I only WISH i had more juice for em but it works for now-I can always go for a drive and bass out. Chicken PWNs us and everyone else w/ his damn Home Audio setup...and pretty much everything else come to think of it .
