  1. Nice upgrade. .......... http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Co...;OVMTC=standard
  2. Damn I'd like to see some/more of that 59? Impala/belair?
  3. Well....So what somebody already did the T15K.....? ....No ones crazy enough to do TWO T15K's!!!!.....or are they...? I can see Steve sittin on the couch w/ Chickin...."Two WOULD be dope bro....." HAHAHAHA. I'd die. We'd ALL f*ckin die. hahahahaha.
  4. They're not TAN it's just a goofy lighting effect. It was prolly sitting on something tan colored or light brown when the photo was taken and the silver/grey arms on the basket are just reflecting that color. Audio-club is on ok dealer from my exp. I think I got one set of subs form them and it was 100% kosher no scams. Check their feedback. I thought you already had 4-Type R 12's....or you said you did... for that box you were puttin together w/ your brother...?
  5. Nice job man congrats on the win. Can't wait till i have time to rebuild and start competing again. Going to shows is good times, and even better when you take home hardware.
  6. ok well that aint a real hairtrick then. You're talkin bout IN the port/airstream. Fun stuff if you're bored but not the real dealio. You gotta use the open window as you're "venue". you can open/close w/e u want like have just that one window open to force as much air out there as you can but it's gotta be head in the window to be legit
  7. Yup. Same as I was saying about it being just like autobody repair^^^. Like using a screw-tipped-dent puller. The autobody version usually hooks on the end of a slide hammer so you can jerk the dent out w/ help from the weight of the "slide". The downside is having to make that hole and then how visible it'd be afterward. Try the sticky/no hole method first and if that doesn't work you can try the other way and might invest in a hook/pick set which have L's and "?"hooks you can get in behind the dent and pull with. The paper clips are generally too pliable and will just unbend/straighten out under pressure unless it's a thin paper dustcap (pretty sure it's thicker vinyl on a JL sub)
  8. best luck i've had/seen is the same concept as pullin dents from a car body: either use something very TACKY like some high tack tape/fly paper or a very small suction cup if the effected area is flat & smooth enough for it to seal/grab. I'd try some tape/double sided tape or similar tacky material to try to pull it out w/ out doing more damage. good luck.
  9. Overseas/euro folks put just as much emphasis on mids/highs as bass/lows and often have a GANG of mids spread thru the vehicle. It's just a matter of taste. If you want RIDICULOUS mids/highs just like most of us want RIDICULOUS bass/lows, then go for it man. To each his own. BUT PLEASE!....I think I speak for everyone in saying JUST DON'T MAKE IT GROSS! That is, make it a clean, well thought out, and cleanly installed setup and dont over/under power em so they sound nasty-Do your Homework and make sure you check the Impedance of each infividual tweeter so you don't end up w/ a wiring mishap and fry either 20+tweets or the amps driving them. I'm pretty sure the guys would agree we all wanna say BE CAREFULL: The bigger the scale you're working on, the bigger the boo-boo you can make. And if it all goes well, you know the build pix and vids wil silence the nay-sayers. & Good luck w/ that.
  10. Congrats dude. Awsome glass work on the bird. You got me takin notes just like when Groundpounder posts=good shit. Good luck at the shows and be sure to mention when you'll be up north here near Sactown, I'd love to hear them 15w6's.
  11. OK-NO OFFENSE TO ALMOST EVERYONE ^^^^^^^BUT...... Not everyone even LIKES the sound of 15's or 18's. The ability of a smaller sub to be more "accurate" or have better transient response is very appealing to folks who listen to MUSIC w/ more instrumentals or DIFFICULT bass passages. Although "woofer for woofer" the bigger you go the more output you'll get, you don't neccessarily have to go bigger to get more bass. I used to run 2-15's sealed (my 1st ever setup). My buddy had 2-12's in a bandpass box. The SQ was about the same but my setup was def louder. When I rebuilt my car w/ the 4-12's sealed I noticed a BIG TIME increase in SQ due to better transient response, gained 6db and had to go download a buncha techno jams just to test how much difference having "quick" subs made. The diff was NOTICABLE. So, I guess i'm just sayin, you don't neccessarily have to fill an SUV w/ 15's or 18's to get loud, you could just use a BUNCH of smaller subs and it would sound as loud or louder and have better SQ (which matters to some folks more than others). You may say "but the bigger subs can play lower"...which may be true assuming you are limited on space but in a bg enough/well designed box 8's and 10's play 30hz quite nicely. Ask Ray about the integra w/ 6-8's doing 151db TL at around 40hz.
  12. Kicker Comp VX, 2-compVR's and change left over, 2-MTX 7500 series 15's (my personal choice but only if you're dead set on 15's), 1-MTX 8500 or 9500 series 15, 1-Soundstream T5-15, a few Mach-5 15's, Ascendant Audio Arsenals would be nice, 2-Audioque SD2's would be nice too. I'm sure there are even more but those are some of my fav's/top of my head ideas.
  13. If you can do a hairtrick w/ one 15 (P1 WAS IT?)....i will be THOROUGHLY impressed. I can move heavy sweatshirts, nylon jackets, and about any type of clothing you could be wearing in my ride. I garauntee it has been "fluttered" and "shaken" but I checked if it would do a hairtrick and no dice. Even at a LOW freq like 32hz or so, no FULL ON hairtrick, just too weak to be official. So if you can get er done w/ 1-15 I'mma give you a gold star.
  14. AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS WHY THIS PLACE PWNS ALL OTHER FORUMS! Mature folks. Thanx for the kudos on my vids, part of the SQ i get out of em is that they're in a "relatively small" sealed box. I actually built that box for the previous set of comp VR's which, USED TO say could not/should not be run in ported boxes, and only on the newer ones were they ok'd for ported use. NOW, it could be louder if I ported it but I have quite a bit of $$$ and labor in the current setup so until I can "go big" it should stay as is. As for the $1000-$1500 system debate/topic, are you talkin that much just for sub+amp/s? or do you need a deck/mids/wire/etc for that. It IS possible to do that but you'll have to scale down the output and upgrade sub+amps later. Technically, The lexus I put in the builds section was done w/ $1500 in parts and the mustang was done w/ $1000 in parts. So, either 2-12's or 2-15's, 2-3 amps, deck, front mids, rear mids, eq/processor CAN be done under the $1500 cap as long as YOU are doing the install and don't have to pay anyone. otherwise...Like some of the guys have said^^^ $1500 can buy some SERIOUS slumpage and I would explore more than the kicker/RF options as there are some seriously HIGH OUTPUT brands out there that would gladly ship to canada (i'm pretty sure you mentioned that was an issue). ALSO! I should mention: MACH 5 is a fairly new CANADIAN company w/ good lookin woofers at RIDICULOUSLY good prices. Yo umight want to look into them as an option since they are Canada based and low cost PLUS they make 6.5's all the way up to 18's so you can pick your poison. Personnally I'd loveto play w/ some of their 18's or the 12's just cuz you could get SO MANY of them at low cost and the specs are respectable. Check ROE(realmofexcursion) for vids of Snoopdans 18''. I believe he did a 143db TL in an SUV w/ 1 sub ported at the tailgate. Linky: http://mach5audio.com/
  15. Ok, 1st-Chris-I wasn't singling you out, it was directed at the COLLECTIVE back and forthing over kicker vs RF. 2nd- well if you're gonna be butthurt, I guess thats fine too. Like I said, I may have posted it PREMATURELY in an effort to keep the haters in check, but I guess you can't see where I'm comin from that one. If you wanna dwell on it go ahead. If you read what I said you should see that my point was that ARGUING about it was the retarded part. Giving ur opinion and stating what FACTS lead you to it is a more constructive method than just saying one is better than the other. That was my point-just make sure you back up why you say what you say (everyone, myself included) Race result: Please say you'll settle for a tie...
  16. I was just reading your "plans" on the side on that pic w/ the drawing... did you print out what Forevrbmpn had said? looks very close to his quotes... or did HE cut & past it from elsewhere... Not that that's so bad, but if it's his, just like +1 for him to be writing that good of a tutorial. It def opened my eyes to this type of enclosure.
  17. I can feel you on not being into a company based on looks for sure. I REALLY wish RF would go back to the old look and I think the only time i'd run the new ugly woofers would be in a bandpass w/ no windows in the box. Other brands too, some are just a turn off in the aesthetics dept and need a redesign but the most powerfull way to impact the design guys is stop buying it until they make it pretty again or vice versa (if it's pretty but not loud boycott until they bring the boom back) All I hear is about how the Power T-line of RF subs are great, and I have found many folks "posting ###'s" both on the mic and having pics to back it up and through hearsay but noentheless, the SPL ###'s DON'T give you ANY idea of the SQ that some of us want in a daily so until you hear a given brand "under ideal conditions" and IMO you need to hear it in more than one setup as a comparison. you can't really say one's ALL OUT BETTER than another one, other than "THIS got louder in THIS setup" vs a different one. The vehicle has a lot to do w/ it too. Ask Tommy to pull the 150db on a TL in an SUV instead of a small cab pickup. Or a trunk car maybe? Right now I would side w/ the RF power series amps and even some of their lower/entry level stuff seems to get it done IMO w/ a very nice look as well. I would pick kicker (and did) over the new Fosgate stuff but I still have love for the old scholl RF stuff and thus I have used fosgate in 3 of the builds I posted (HX2'S in the lexus and mustang and HE2's in the RSX)
  18. Well, IMO/experience, the "my brand is better than your brand" argument is waaaaaaay played out and NEVER ends well, if it EVER ends @ all. Maybe I was a lil premature in trying to nip this one in the bud before it turned into one of those "F-you!..F-ME? NO F-YOU!" flame wars that RUIN forums. If you're gonna debate thats all well and good and I won't hate on you for that alone, but it should be kept to grown up debate and EVERYONE must realize that regargless of how good anything sounds, IF THE GUY YOU'RE ARGURING WITH HAS NEVER HEARD IT, OR ANYTHING "THAT GOOD" chances are you're comparing apples and oranges again and THATS 1/2 the point of that picture. It's the internet, even if I hooked up my "better than yours" products and played them for you in a video...the mic would blurr it all and it'd sound horrible which is why all those haters that attempt to shit talk steve's videos on break and youtube say shit like "did you hear all that distortion!? OMG WTF!" etc. Anyone who's heard steve's setup will tell you it sounds incredibly good esp considering he has 4-giant woofers as a low end. Difficult to "balance" w/ the mids no doubt...=Steve's got knowledge/skill. If you tell someone there's a Component set that costs $10k, and the BEST they've ever heard was a $300 set and THAT $300 set took first place at 100 SQ comps in a ROW (good golly). GOOD LUCK convincing him the $10k set is worth it. I have heard awsome sound come from speakers that I myself have "clowned" for being BOTTOM barrel and not worth the box they came in. Which brings a nice point about THE WORK THAT GOES INTO DESIGN and PLANNING of a HI-AUDIO setup. Most folks know how long the "big dawgs" in the audio game have been doing and that they have elarned along the way to do it right and test/plan/overthink before they start building it that way there is a better chance their 1st/2nd attempt is a KILLER, rather than a laugh fest. So flame each other's fav brands all you want as long as we can keep it adult, and KNOW: there is a limit to how hard you should even try to convince someone your fav brand is best, unless you OWN STOCK IN THEM, it's just not worth the agrevation.
  19. Man I posted ###'s for my everywhere and yet folks still somehow keep askin. I'm pretty sure it's UP THERE EVEN^^^.... TL-best to date burping it 145.## @ the dash/windshield TL avg over 2min 140db on music. A/C mic (epic 160 mounted front & center of dash under deck) 150db (as if anyone cares) Nah NO offense taken whatsoever. I wasn't sure if we could/should vote for our own but i wanted to keep it fair/legit so i voted for blockshaker for the exact reason you mention Steve: If Imma get whooped, I'd rather it be by some one who DESERVES it rather that some HighSchool BS, and like you said Homey has his Bird done right. As I saw it I could stand to get whooped by 8-15's in an SUV, and I guess a bagged Bird w/ some SICK ASS GLASSWORK EVEN UNDER THE HOOD is no exception. BTW-If theres ANYTHING I'm used too by now, it's having my ass handed to me or getting bumped out the running by someone who brought A LIL BIT MORE to the battle. (coughcoughSTEVEcoughcough) Congrats to Scott aka BB and everyone else nominated too.
  20. OK I added the URL try that one and lemme know.
  21. Damn. paintballs, laserpointers, and knife throwing... now I remember why 6th grade was sooooo much fun. and BTW-Springers=teh sucko...eeewwwwwwwww AEG's or Gas or just dont even bother. However, Tippman FTW. fun times. <--2002 Spyder compact deluxe (hard workin mutha) w/ dropdown/bottom line+remote line, and a buncha gooodies...maybe we need a paintball thread too? Oh yea and I "custom" painted it tiger stripe camo. pix if i get bored enuff. Mrrreeeaaaa!
  22. Thnx guys. ***EDIT*** The last vd should play now I did the code for it...any better? Enough w/ the love fest though... Truthfully, i have been "less than in love" w/ my car recently. I reposted just cuz I got a new camera and it actually allows some flex to show but we all know it's nowhere near loud enough. OK for street beatin as long as I never run into Steve, Redbaron, KingSUV, or DVB916 (sp?) any of them big hitters here in SAC would PWN me for sure. low-mid 140's on a TL is "ok" but I'm not really happy w/ it as my "big number". My next install will crush this setup easily...it's just a question of when I can get to it. Mom's still in and out of the hospital, school's goin again and werkin more now than ever (fuckin 7days a week mayne...& mornings are killin me) I have all the product for the install I have been thinking of since about 1/2 way through my "trophy run year" or 2...but now I'm thinkin THAT setup won't pull a big enough number for sure so I wanna go bigger. Too many homies rides to hook up and even less time. Thnx for the love regardless, I made a video showing I can bump it hard w my golf clubs in the trunk (which fit BTW) but the vid was like 109MB and Photobucket tops out at 100MB so I need to make a shorter version. ALSO-If yall loved it so much how'd I get PWNed on SOTM?!? HAHAAHHAHAA. i NOMINATED amatt85, and Voted for Blockshaker. I had a hand in my own demise haha. Oh well.
  23. Same as before plus some thnx to the new camera. Finally some hatch flex. OK PHOTOBUCKET IS BEING QUITE HOMO SO HERE'S THE URL! (last vid) http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...attlecheck1.flv the others in URL http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=100_0057.flv http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=100_0046.flv http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=100_0045.flv Here's the PROOF you can put 4-12's in a hatch and still go golfing w/ the homies (full set of Golfclubs in the trunk/hatch) and the url just in case: http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...SubbinJacks.flv One more: (url) http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...ubSubbinATM.flv Couple more vids: http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=MVI_1650.flv http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=MVI_1645.flv http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a68/Caspe...nt=MVI_1652.flv
  24. If you are mattign the entire car, i.e. interior panels AND outer skin there will be no use/benefit in using those disks. If it was "bare metal" behind the midwoofer, the disk would do the same thing/serve the same funct as the dynamatt. pick one and go w/ it. Both would be overkill/not needed, unless you just want overkill..I've done my fair share of that.
