Burning a Dvd and Computer Shuts Off
STEvil replied to brsteinbach's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
No need to take them apart to clean a heatsink, just blow it out with compressed air. If you use a large air compressor (not a can) just be a bit careful about it because 100+ PSI is a bit dangerous at point blank range to some components. -

blow out the heatsink of the laptop... also make sure the fan is actually still spinning. Small fans have a tendency to die. -
Burning a Dvd and Computer Shuts Off
STEvil replied to brsteinbach's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
If it shuts off and doesnt restart by itself (as in you dont have to press the power button to turn it back on) then could be heat or power related. Software error usually restarts the system. -
1st computer build any tips?
STEvil replied to jeyrapboy's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
They are all connected to a common ground plane. Fuzzy speakers would probably indicate an issue somewhere that over tightening the screws just covered up. -

1st computer build any tips?
STEvil replied to jeyrapboy's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
The integrated GPU on the motherboard will be fine for what you intend to do. Dont expect miracles though Everything looks fine really. -
Could get another 5770 and crossfire it with your first one. Crossfire between a 5850 and 5770 wouldnt work too well.

1st computer build any tips?
STEvil replied to jeyrapboy's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Nothing of what he listed above is about OpenCL or CUDA. As to "investing" in OpenCL, its 95% about development, not investment, and the development is happening on more than just AMD/ATi's end. -

disapointment
STEvil replied to pk222's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
what direction are the subs facing in your car? I had a single 12 on less than 500w in a sealed "truck" box facing up towards the rear glass hatch (about the same angle) on top of the rear diff. It hammered really hard. -
these subs alright?

http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/product_AUDIO_amp_gothic.htm # RMS Power 4 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan. # RMS Power 2 ohms: 2500 watts x 1 chan. # RMS Power 1 ohm: 3200 watts x 1 chan. Probably rated at 14.4v, so anything under that is gonna be a bit less even. -
air movement has latency to the movement of the driver diaphram, thats why the cancellation doesnt "seem" to be there. It is there, just not perceptible.
