slide a 3/4" piece of mdf down them (full width and height) and see if that changes things noticeably... or a 1/2" if 3/4 is too thick. if they help you can screw them in place and fiberglass it at the end inside the box to smooth it out.

yeah basically, but it just has this big air-hammer trick up its sleeve
-
because bandpass enclosures are much like a horn, and a horn has high efficiency due to active air movement at the mouth.. more air that is "active" the louder your system.. tunnel bandpass enclosures are even more like horns than normal bandpass, and technically the cab area is acting as a helmholtz resonator..

amp screws?
STEvil replied to loganberry's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
support the terminals with something if you can so you dont break the solder inside the amp while drilling and tapping. -
make sure the circle radius is along the center of the path of your ports.. if one side is bigger than the other then use the median value. Example: port is 8" wide on one side, 9" on the other. Median value will be 8.5"

using 1/2 circle radius would give you a more correct number for the corners. Flare the mouth if possible, free horn area!

haha I stuffed them in my tower speakers temporarily.. they actually make quite nice midrange drivers if you toss a boatload of power at them (takes about 150-200w for them to come alive) and handle the lows reasonably as well Maybe I should go pick up the 4 that are left and see if I can get a hairtrick out of them

I guess some audio companys are behind....look

IA has a better basket, can get better excursion thanks to wider spiders, or at least it appears the spiders are wider. -
slam a couple of them in a blow-through for an S10 and use the entire bed+topper for box area basically... have them angled so the mouth can be bigger then you could have a large horn shaped port all the way to the back pretty much.

Picked up 4x Pyle Blue Label 10's lol... gonna try making some weird boxes with them. Hope to have some results as time permits (entering seeding season). Also participated in a comp at IAcity Sound, just a throw-together one. Did a 139.8 with two Kicker L5 10's on a Lanzar Opti2000D @ 2ohms at 50hz. ~2ft^3 tuned to 35-ish hz in the cab of a 1986 Toyota SR-5 Pickup. haha.. Hope to have my big truck fixed for the next comp on June 5th If anyone's in Lethbridge alberta you should come and have some fun!

Aeroport or slot port? Which is better?
STEvil replied to solo_x18_mobile's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
take a slot port and "bend" it to the shape of a horn mouth. Best of both worlds and most efficient use of space! -
wish I had a pair of them

Send me 6 L7 12's and i'll give you my 18" MA Audio HK's. 6 L7 12's would be fun. Not necessarily the loudest at high frequency but awesome low end due to all the cone area.

220 Amps means the alterator produces an average peak of 220 amperes of current, which at 14.4 volts is 3,168 watts of power. If your volts dip, you lose power. If you dont run in the peak RPM range, you lose power. It doesnt matter though given that you will not be feeding your system 4000w RMS and driving for extended periods of time, so any time the system does require more than the alternator can give it will just take it from the battery (as long as the battery(ies) are ok).
