  1. Hello all. I've got a JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69, as seen in my sig. I bought if off Crutchfield, who gave me a 3-year warranty since it was from their 'Signature' site. Anyway, I came home from college to see that it has issues. While playing any music via AM/FM/CD/USB, the speakers emit this harsh, high-pitch static noise that goes with the music (isn't constant). On top of that, the passenger rear speaker outputs 1% of the sound it should, and when adjusting volume, the right side speakers change faster than the left side. I pulled out the deck, and took a DMM to the speaker wires at the dash- each reads 4ohms. I also pulled out the rear passenger speaker (the particularly weak sounding one) and hooked it up to another source. Sounds perfect. I really think this deck is toast- but want to verify here.
  2. He said he wants to save gas... But old RWD Corollas are badass...and 240s have an absolutely insane aftermarket.
  3. Let's say I hypothetically get the EQS. What would I then set the amp's crossovers to?
  4. I hear you- so you're saying put an EQ on the front RCA channel, and just have the amp's crossover worry about the rear fill? I looked at the Audiocontrol EQL- any thoughts on that one?
  5. Which costs more? The issForged exhaust or KW Variant coilovers? 500th post! Haha didn't even realize till after the fact. Carry on
  6. I dig all the head-to-head tests going on on this forum right now. Subs, Amps, Batteries...keep it going!!

    Four Loko.

I know for one thing that the watermelon and blue raspberry taste like ass. I have a ~12 hour block of my life missing because of those damn things, among other stuff that night. Regardless, I don't recommend it.
  8. The thing is, I want to have speakers in the back doors as well.
  9. Drop it like it's hot- get rid of that gap and make it handle even better than it already does.
  10. So what would happen is, with say the DQXS, the signal would do this: DQXS decides low/high pass and EQ for mids/highs ---> Power 1000 amplifies signal ----> component crossover separates freqs between midrange and tweeter?
  11. Not at all. In general, go for the largest wire the amp will accept...
  12. Definitely recommend the Antec PSU. The other one isn't 'bad,' but the Antec has an active PFC that cleans up the power some.
  13. Scary. Especially with the amount owed to other countries, not all of whom will necessarily be happy with waiting too much longer.
  14. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 is a tremendous upgrade over stock cooling for a pretty good price. I'd also recommend Xigmatek, Prolimatech, and Thermalright, but those are more expensive. Hyper 212 On second thought, the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is actually less expensive than the 212 right now. I run one on a Core 2 Duo E8500 @4.13GHz, so it definitely does the job. Xigmatek AM3 Mounting Kit for Xigmateks
  15. Before looking at your parts, let me tell you this. Changing RAM speed (say from 1600MHz to 2000MHz) will not have a very appreciable impact on day-to-day activities, unless you're running benchmarks all day. The AMD 1100T is the same price on Newegg as it is as TigerDirect. I've been dealing with Newegg since 2005, and have had seamless transactions every time. The only thing I have an issue with is the ASUS motherboard. They seem to have been having some QC issues lately, but that's not to say the board you buy will be a failure. However, every single Gigabyte board I've bought or installed has been rock solid. May I recommend this: Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H And as for a video card, here's what I came up with: Gigabyte GTX 550Ti It's at the top of your budget range, but the 550Ti has been pretty well received.
  16. Drill a few small holes along the length of the pipe to let out trapped water...bada bing
  17. What's the weight on those things? I know you went for the look with these, but I'm interested to know. Lookin' FRESH!
  18. Bump- now that it's a decent hour
  19. I can't use one. I have a 5-channel amp, and running active would require me to have separate amps for mids, sub and tweets, would it not?
  20. Hello all- this will probably come off as a scrub question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have this system in my head, which will consist of my RF Power 1000, 6.5" and 5.25" Hybrid Audio component sets, and a nice 12" sub sealed up. I can't run an RF 360.X or anything like that, due to the fact that I am using a single 5-channel amp. With that said, I'm going to have to find a nice EQ and go through extensive testing an tuning to get the sound where I want it to be. What EQs have you used, and what would you recommend to me? I know AudioControl has a f***ing sea of them, but that's all I've looked at so far. Thanks
  21. I don't think you'll see a great deal of difference in the spark plugs, no.
  22. If you're so confident, why the hell make a thread? Run it and tell us what happens.
  23. There are several things in your car that I'm sure won't like running at 16+ volts. I'm thinking stuff like the ECU, and the many other control computers sprinkled throughout modern cars.
  24. It's the BTL with the single-slug, really wide motor, like the ones pictured in this thread. They look like a stereotypical UFO you could say. The older style weren't as wide, and had double-or-triple stacked motors.
