Anyone know of orange power wire?
baaudio replied to Robert8252's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Yeah me too. The price on the Memphis stuff is way to high. agreed. i can get a good deal on it, but the welding cable is still cheaper -
whats max width if you guys know? ive got 41" wide and 20" tall til i pass the back seats, 18" to stay below windown line and depth is 30" from back of seats to gate. just trying to make a plan for a new box. the only downside is that ive deadened the shit out of my explorer as well as window tint. so all that has to be redone..... as long as it has 15s stock my new tires will swap over.

the memphis stuff is sweet looking. orange for pos and solid black for neg. but ya expensive as hell. but its quality wire. -
I get 17 with my explorer now. So gas is no biggie. I can pick it up for $500 from my moms friend. Shit was clean last time I saw it. She thinks it may have tranny issues. But is that common? I figure a 50 year old business lady prolly doesn't have a clue about the mechanics of a car, no offense to her, she's a great lady.

Okay guys so I have a chance to buy a late 90s blazer 4 door 4wd for a screaming deal. What's the ups n downs of this truck? It's only got 70k on it. Automatic. Gold with black interior IIRC. I wanna know max dimensions. If my 18 will fit in the cargo area or not. I'm afraid its less volume in the back then my explorer. But it's definitely worth it. Im looking for electrical issues, mechanical issues, cargo dimensions. Will my two 6500s fit somewhere? I appreciate all the help, as I won't have a chance til later this week to look at or drive the vehicle. It's definitely a cherry though

Bass Knob
baaudio replied to afrakes's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
What I prefer is to use a PAC LC-1 it's a line level bass knob. Basically it interrupts the RCA signal. Therefore it will not cause any distortion by overriding your gains. Ive also noticed an increase in output using this instead. -
Christmas all over again!!
baaudio replied to kryptonite's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
It's almost as if you left the Christmas tree up waiting for this lol -
Has anyone tried this app? I just downloaded it and is very accurate with Torres box calculator. Only issue I see is when I plug in for two 4" round ports it only calculates area for one. But tuning changes appropriately. Its an app I see myself using when I'm not on my computer. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. Btw. It's free!!! Wooo

Gain matching with DD-1 and dmm
baaudio replied to baaudio's topic in SMD Distortion Detector (DD-1) Topics
No it would be one coil per amp. That's why I wanna match them. Skittles thanks for the answer. That's what I was thinking would be the right way. I just couldn't say it as clearly. Sorry for the confusion decaf -
Gain matching with DD-1 and dmm
baaudio replied to baaudio's topic in SMD Distortion Detector (DD-1) Topics
Ya I know read my last section. That's what I'm doing daily. But for comps I wanna run both amps. They're class gh does 2000 @ 1 and 1500 @ 2 so it'd be a gain of 50% power wise. -
Okay so I may be getting two amps soon and might run both to one sub. I know ill have to match AC output of both and will use my DMM for that. My plan is to set both amps with the dd-1 then measure ac output on same 40 Hz tone and match the lower one of the two. Just confirming if this is the best way to go about this. Amps are identical. They are strappable but only at 2 ohm and woofer is dual 2. In gonna run one amp at 1 ohm daily then chain them together for comps if I'm still running a single woofer setup

I see no problem with "sand bagging" if you have no one in your class then why risk blowing potentially thousands of dollars worth of equipment on guaranteed points. My first show I competed in I was doing bass boxing. I qualified with an average of 136.x. good enough for third. The guy who was second broke so I got shoed in. I competed with a 145.x average this was cuz I found a better song for the comp. But some could assume I was sand bagging cuz there was no way I could win. The guy who won averaged 148.x so it wasn't even close.
