youll either get 3 ohms or .75 the only way to get 1.5 would be with another 13w7. the 13w7 is the only dual voice coil w7

ive had my study guide for quite some time now. to me it always seemed like tedious reading. ive been an installer at shops for 3 years. mostly just little stuff, never really anything custom though. the best training for the mecp test is just by doing this. like ray said the mecp study guide is a great start though. best of luck to you man

(Easy) General Wiring Question
baaudio replied to TLEJ's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
i would hook 87 to your battery or any constant source and fuse for about 10-15 amps, i dont see the leds drawing much more then that. and if you want to have lights come on whenever the radio is on just connect pin 85 to the remote wire. otherwise yes you could just put a jumper between 87 to 85 then run one lead to +12v. -

not all have an 87a pin. but the one you have is exactly what you need. so no worries -
(Easy) General Wiring Question

85 and 86 are the triggers. One must see +12v and the other Ground. It doesn't matter which. Then 87a and 87 are inputs and 30 is the output. When the relay is not triggered 87a and 30 are connected. Once the relay is triggered 87 and 30 are connected. You can do all sorts of shit with relays. Most of your switches in your car are triggers for relays in fact. All with very similar connections. Most are - triggers to the relay to prevent shorts in wiring. Learning how to use relays has been one of the best things I could learn in car audio. -

ya these guys have it right. use a standard relay. pin 85 to remote wire off radio with a switch between deck and relay (this is low amperage so switch doesnt get burnt up), pin 86 to ground, pin 87 to constant (20 amp fuse may be to much for a few leds), and then pin 30 to all the leds. -
weird. Where in Seattle are you? We might be able to meet up and get this thing debugged (I'm only pushing the amp around 1/3rd of what it can do - do I am definitely contacting crown if it is distortion) im actually over in everett area
-
the woofer in my room does something very similar to this. only when i turn the amp up so much so i figure its like distortion and turn it down. its not noticeable free air for me either.

Just got this amp from a buddy of mine. He just had it laying around and gave it to me. It's an older Memphis PR500.1D. It has 1/0 inputs and fused for 60 amps so I'm guessing it packs a pretty good punch. My car sits at a solid 14.6-.8 volts with this amp even at full tilt at idle. In a perfect world I'll see 800+ watts at 1 ohm from this amp. I'm gonna be running two of my Diamond D1 10s on this at 1 ohm in a 4th order. I've got high expectations from this amp. On to pics!

Lexus ISF NOS - 1 step closer
baaudio replied to meade916's topic in Just Meade....my projects - Tons of SMD Builds here!
personally i like the blue tank on the side. a black tank would just blend too much. if youre doing this kind of upgrade you want it to pop. i wouldnt change the bottle at all. the blue in the trunk is sex! i cant wait to see the finished product man. it should be pretty cool when its done. on a side note. theres no way steve hasnt done all the research and talked to all the right people about getting some serious power out of this car. im certain that hes found a shop more then capable of PROPERLY doing this upgrade. im not an SMD nuthugger, but one thing i know is that these kinds of upgrades arent just thrown in, they have to be done correctly otherwise the consequences can be very expensive. -
this test is one ive been waiting on for a while. i argue with people all the time that peal n seal is just not a valid equivalent to any sort of real sound deadener. im def going to bookmark this at work to prove this to people (i work sales at a car stereo shop). it should definitely help my argument. thanks jon for a great test! also im curious for a test of 100% cld coverage. and why was the peal n seal in strips? isnt it a big roll or is it precut strips from manufacturer? ive never used the product. just curious if the strips vs solid piece would effect results as well.

Need amp that will push 2 CVRs, 3 later down the road.
baaudio replied to JesseyMclame's topic in Want To Buy
get a kicker zx1500.1 it makes 1500 at 2 ohm and 750 at 4. so run your current pair at 4 ohm and when you get a third run it at 2.67 and voila. problem solved. otherwise look for an amp that makes 1500 or so watts RMS at 2 ohm. just my suggestion. im currently running a 3 sub setup that are dual 4 ohm. edit. with a $130 budget you prolly wont find anything. just sayin. -
wtf is dude wearing???

well today i got another woofer to add to my stock pile lol. ive cleaned it up some, had a lot of dust from being in dudes truck (semi). he bought a new one thinking this was blown and gave it to me. i got home and immediately hooked it to my meter. read at 4 ohms so i threw it on an amp and sure enough it was bumpin fine. idk if its really a score or not. but hey free is free!
