  1. sounds good to me, i have a 2000 2 dr. blazer and i hit 137.9 at the dash sealed up, on right around 800 watts rms on a 15" diamond audio d3. my box is 4 cubes, and tuned at 32 hz. I would say a 142 is good. are your subs up or back, and which way is your port facing??
  2. i used torres as well, only difference was i still had measurements from a dif box in. sorry bout that bobby32. I wasn't saying it wasn't hitting lows, imo with those subs, i would tune lower, but I LOVE the lows. I've tried tuning lower, just never seems to hit much over 40hz, not like it does at 32-34. I'm talking from being tuned at 28-30. 34 seems to be the sweet spot for daily ground pounders. At least from every one i have heard.
  3. With the size of the box, your going to need a LOT more power for those subs. I recommend building another box and tuning 32-34hz, if you want daily that gets the lows. Then you know the exact size of the box and the exact tuning!!
  4. if those are internal measurements, i got 3.2 cubes tuned @ 32.6 hz. could be wrong though
  5. audioque 2200d is 39$ more shipped, and puts out WAY more power than the jl. What subs are you thinking bout getting, that would help us tell you which amp to look into. But you have a lot better options than the jl 1000/1
  6. thanks for letting me know bout your alpine hu, but i want to go with another indash dvd. anyone know if its possible to put a double din in a 2000 blazer?
  7. Just glad i didn't order my new subs from DC yet. Need to get a hu first, might still be able to order one of them, just have to see what kind of money i want to spend on a hu first now. 01zx3, looking at your f/s section right now. thanks
  8. I know, thats what i keep telling myself. Glad there's the SMD forum to vent on about this bullshit. I guess i can start shopping for a new hu
  9. nope no camera or nothing. The cops went through and asked all the people with front windows that could see, cuz the alarm was going off
  10. what kind of low life people does something like this. I mean it's quite obvious they are not very smart for not taking anything else, and they did it at 11:30 p.m.
  11. My fuel pump went out 3 days ago and is sitting at my friends apartment complex which is completely lit up and i got a phone call from my friend about an hour and a half ago, and someone broke my passenger side window out on my 2 door blazer, and stole my indash dvd player. didn't take my sub, amps, or anything else, didn't even take the remote for the hu. The tow company is picking it up tomorrow morning at 8:30 to, and someone did this.
  12. I put a hypertech on my 2000 2dr. It helped a lot with acceleration, but more because i changed the shift firmness and shift points. As far as power, you can tell a little bit, well worth it if you pull many trailers because of the adjustablity of the shift points, but if you don't do much of that i would suggest not spending money on hypertech. I have a couple friends that had theirs custom tuned at a performance shop, and that def helped more than my hypertech, and was jut about the same price. I may have gained 1mpg they gained 3-4.(on the highway)
  13. I would have to agree that the cvx would sound better than a type r in the right box. You can throw a little more than rated to the cvx to.
  14. loudest in mine is subs up port back, or subs up ports drivers side. but port back is nice, so you have room for amp/amps. either way sound good.
  15. fosgate power t1462's i have had right around 65 watts rms, running them for bout 6 months, and they still sound great. They actually get surprisingly loud for 4x6's. plus price on them is great.
  16. if you want a groundpounder don't tune it at 36hz, tune it at 30hz!!!!! you keep saying you want the lows, so don't tune above 34hz. i have always been fond of 32. its the sweets spot for what i like to hear.
  17. no one on here wants you to fry your amp, sub/s, and car. thats why you shouldn't do that. just run your power wire underneath your car and drill a hole in the back to run it up through, just silicone the shit out of the hole. zip tie the wire to various parts under your car, such as your frame rail. real easy don't have to worry bout behind the dash or anything. good luck, try not to pay someone to do it, learn to do it yourself, its the best part of this hobby.
  18. i was with my girl for 5 years married for one, went to the army divorced in 7 months. This is my first v-day single, so i kinda know how you feel man, but i just got back from a friends a lil bit ago, and had the stereo cranked all the way home, and it never fails to put a BIG smile on my face.(it isn't nutty loud or anything either) You will find someone that cares for you, and not just what you have or you who hang out with. So until then enjoy being single, go meet new people, work on your stereo, trust me man, you keep busy with your interests and things will get better a lot faster. and if not, SMD is here for ya!!
  19. Man you must of gave it to me, i have the exact same shit minus the ear infections. Had it since last sunday. Feel lil better today, but not even close to 100% yet. and about what to do sitting home all day sick so you don't lose your mind, i have no idea, because i lost my mind by last wed!
  20. i was once married now divorced. But sure is nice not paying for my own v day presents like i did when i was married. At least i have a great son to spend my first single vday with in years. Happy v-day all!!
