I'm old

I'm 40. Happy to know I'm not the only one !!! But mileage is high too !!! -
Maybe it's just a wiring problem ? Are you sure you have a 1 Ohm load ? Check your wiring twice. This amp should really be enough for your sub. You don't need another one;
-
I don't think it's a good choice. Get a used Rockford, like someone already told you. you won't find any good new amp for this little $100.
-
That xxx will show a 1 Ohm load if it is wired correctly. What is your problem ? Be sure to run it in an optimal box. You will have room for that kind of big box. running 2 cvx AND a L7 will not sound really good IMO. Your setup will be much cleaner sounding. But that is a lot of power for an xxx. 3000 watts will be enough. All is in the install. 2 amps like yours may be good for spl burps, but more than 6000 w rms on music on a single sub. I would be afraid to do that. I've seen so many XXX blown. You won't be able to run those 2 amps at 1 Ohm each. Impossible !!! 10 000 w rms is a joke for music listening, on one sub.

Sell it fast before anything bad happens ! Your budget is low, but if you sell your current amp, you will be able to get a decent one : Kicker 2500 or 1500, Alpine mrp 2000, or two 1000 w rms amps (like 2 sundown saz 1000 if you can find them) to link. Don't focus on the number if you don't compete. 1500 or 2500 : it won't matter much ! Focus on the right box for this monster sub !

I'd say one 15" SSA Xcon on 1500 w, or a Zcon or a Fi BTL N2(you have the budget) on 2500. you will love them all. 2 SA sound good too. But I love SSA subs, I'm biaised !!! Give us the specs of your box. You may have to get another one. The box is the most important part, from my little experience. I always try several different boxes for my subs, and the results are always different.

Numbers?

Why do you need an alt ? You want to run more power ? Seems pretty loud congrats -
A Crescendo 3000 on a single XL ?

AQ means AudioQue SD can be sundown, but here it seems that it's a model name in the Audioque line of subs : "street duty" or something like that. Take a look at both sites. AQ seems cheaper though, but I'm a Sundown fan !!! For subs, look at ficaraudio.com too. Newls1 told you everything ! With a total budget, you would get more advices here. There are tons of options ! Good luck !

AQ2200 is a nice amp. Everybody seems to love it on a lot of car audio forums. The DD is a strong one too.
-
Get a real ssf for that RF amp. 28 Hz maybe good, but the slope is not, on the RF : it won't block enough low notes for the sub. SSF can be found for cheap on some websites (parts-express, or Madisound, for examples). Personnally I like my Sundown amps, but the RF are very nice too : maybe easier to re sell in the future ?

Any potential problems for this enclosure?
notorious97200 replied to Shigshwa's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
In a trunk ? Why not sub and port firing back ? Or firing through the back seats, if you seal everything around the box (like a wall) ? -
Finally done. Dc lvl 4 12 installed
notorious97200 replied to pektel's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Nice box. Can you tell us how it sounds. How do you like it ? And what did you have before to compare ? -
sorry for the threadjacked but I needed to thanks RAM_designs : the box you designed for the 2 Pioneer 12" spl subs is amazing !!!! The owner has blew his winshield with bass !!! He loves it !!! We'll do business again !
