Why are you separating your alts and running two 12V systems? If you are going to do that, then why not get an adjustable voltage alternator for your secondary alt and run 14V or 16V to that system? Not trying to cause any issues, but that just doesn't make a lot of sense to run two separate 12V systems. If you just want 12V then I would suggest running both alts to the front battery and then power from front battery to the back. Then you would have both alts to cover the amperage draw from the amps. If you were doing this I would suggest a D3100 in the back if you want to see very little drop. If you are going to run two separate 12V systems, then I would suggest running a couple D3100 in the back if you want to see little voltage drop. What I would really suggest is running the stock alt for your 12v and then the secondary alt (being adjustable) running 16V. The AQ2200d is rated at 2500 X 1 at 1ohm running at 16V. You would see a huge increase in power and a very noticeable audible difference. On this set up would suggest 4 of the XP1000 batteries. Again not trying to say anything bad, but just give you some options that most people would kill to have. It is your system, so make sure and do what is going to make you happy.

The D2700 will probably be to tall.

As has been said. The D1400 needs to be seeing 16V + of charge voltage. Optimal charge voltage is 16.8V. If you are running it off of your 12V alternator, then the battery is basically running as a 12V battery and needs to be charged up properly as soon as you can. You can check with Mechman and see if their adjustable regulator will work with your alternator to charge properly for the 14V system.

Yeah your alternator would be supplying your bank the power. Ground from front to back can never hurt. The fuse size would really be dependent upon on the fusing of the amps.

If you have the second alt there really isn't a reason to go with 14V over 16V unless you just want 14V or your amps can't take the higher voltage. There is a big gain from 14V to 16V and that is why all the top competitors are running 16V. Just a side note 16V systems charge in the 19.2V range.

In your case it will be very simple and more cost effective to run one alternator for the 12V side and one alternator for the 16V side. No need for step down modules and a lot safer and easier. Most mid and high amps can't take 16V any way, so your 12V alt could handle all the vehicle power needs and the mids and highs with a 12V battery. Then you would have a dedicated alternator for your 16V battery bank.

Depends on which engine you have. It will either be a D5100R or a D2400 for under the hood. If you only want to put a battery in the back then I would go with a D3400. There are two ways of doing this. Go cheap and try to by used, which may end up being more expensive in the long run. Buy new and have full warranty and know that the battery was damaged from the previous owner. Suggested option is to get a battery for under the hood (D5100R or D2400), and then a smaller battery in the back (D925 or D975) to make up for the lack of alternator power.

I know some have ran the D6500 in there, but not sure if they had to modify it or not.

Cheapest and easiest way is to make one or get one made out of MDF.

3400 would work fine for you.

That is the difference between two websites not between the new design. There is absolutely no difference in resting voltage or power between last years batteries and the new batteries. No problems mixing them up.

if you did that then you should be able to get a strong enough alt to only use one battery upfront and you can probably fit a larger battery than the D3400. I would just measure how much room you have to work with and then put the biggest one in you can fit.

Front battery to back battery will work.

D6500 under the hood in the stock location and you should be good to go.

A few D3100s should work fine for you. Had a guy that fit a D2400 in the stock location, so you probably can. 3400 under the hood and 3100 in the back if you are going to be doing demos and running the V belt on your alt.

2 D3100 would give you more power and capacity.

Wiring issue some where. If everything is wired up properly you shouldn't have any drop from front to back. Recheck everything and even the simple things that you think there is no way they could be wrong.

I just got a email saying Got XS power? I was the one that summited Got XS power to the new slogan contest?---Shouldn't i have won?? The slogan they used wasn't Got XS Power. I know they have sent out a few news letters with that on it in the past, but that wasn't the new slogan.
