  3. If you are just wanting a secondary battery then yes the D1200 would work. I would run the power wire and ground wire from the front battery to the back battery, and fuse the power wire just after the front battery and just before the back battery.
  4. You will get batter connection with ring terminals really.
  5. You will be fine with that. Your alternator voltage will fluctuate its voltage. It will be higher when it is cold and then when it warms up it will drop down. You will be fine with the S3400 under the hood and alternator charging at stock voltages.
  6. The Ibar will not work with the D3100 now. When it was redesigned we put the larger terminals on it, and the ibar doesn't fit on the new terminals. You can add multiple ring terminals on the terminals though with no problem. You should be good with the D3100. What is your 300amp alternator going to put out at idle? That is a very important thing to look at when getting your alternator. I do not recommend our 300amp alternators to anyone that is going to run it as a daily driver alternator, unless they are running a dual alternator set up, because it doesn't charge at all at idle.

  9. Yes, you can get the Ibar kit 556 for the two top posts and the Ibar spacer kit 558.
  10. Not a stupid question at all. The 14V batteries have to be charged at a higher voltage than a regular 12V alternator can supply. You can either get an alternator with an external regulator or use the VCM (for those applications that the VCM will work with) to charge around 16.8V. Most people have been able to run their stock electrical on the 14V system, but I have had a customer that needed to add in a step down module for his 12V stock electrical system. It is really vehicle specific and you would want to check and make sure it will work on your vehicle. It seems that the Fords are effected by the higher voltage more than the other models so far.

  12. I would suggest looking at changing out the battery under the hood. You will be amazed at the difference that will make. The VCM will help you out and allow you to regulate the voltage output, but your batteries are whats letting you down right now.
  13. 3400 is $239 plus shipping and it depends on which Ibar you are looking at.
  14. If you had a 5100 under the hood and a 6500 in the back you should be good, and then when you get the second amp you could just add another 6500. That would make for a strong set up!

  16. 2 pin oval? The oval 4 wire AD plug will work with 1 wire oval AD plugs.
  17. The ibar kits will not work with the newer D2700s. The posts on the new D2700 is set back to far for the side post ibar kit to work. You could either change the stock battery cables (might as well do the big 3 while you are at it), or if you could fit the 2700 on it side and hook it up that way.
  18. We do not have them available for the Ford applications at this time. When we get these back in stock there will be some new applications available.
  19. This is probably to late, but 2amps will not do anything for those batteries. You can charge them together or individually and 15amps would be ok as long as it doesn't go over 14.9Vs.
  20. Its really more than just a .5 volt. Most alternators fluctuate their voltage charge. I have seen them from 13v up to 15V and then back down on a regular alternator. The VCM regulate the voltage to as steady of a voltage regulation that you can get. So, if you have it set on 14.9V and your alternator would have regularly dropped down to 13.9v, then you have a 1v difference.
  21. The 2 D5100s should be fine. Is this going to mainly be a daily driver or a competition application? What are your voltage expectations?
  22. As long as you are using the 15amp setting and it doesn't go over 14.9V you should be good. You could have it on the 2amp charge for a month and it would probably never fully charge the battery.
