Looking to push 2 Kicker CVR 15's w/ dual 4's..Amp suggestions?
teamace24 replied to LowHo97's topic in Amplifiers
Honestly your kickers only need like 400 watts each to really get loud so the hifonics and the audiopipe will each do great. Get the one with the better warranty or closest to you. Or flip a coin. Set it right and it will not be dirty. -
box for sa-12's
teamace24 replied to baggedon4s's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
4 cubes honestly is ideal as their recommended is 1.75-2.25, some people have gone as large as 2.5 per woofer my best box was 4.4 cubes with a single 6" aero, killed the lows, built one for my buddy that was 4.2 cubes, 12.2" of port tuned to 33hz and plays musically fully down to about 25hz or so. For your buddies box how come you wnt for 12 inches of port? what would have happened if you went with say 16 inches of port. Sorry for the thread jack just interested in the box specs for these. -

Any of those will work. Box is definitely more important though. If you go sealed do at least 2.5 cubes net each. But really go like 4 cubes net each tuned to 33-35. Tested many kickers of all models different boxes. -

Building a big ported box will make the biggest difference. Kickers the cvr and the cvx like big ported boxes at least 3.5 cubes each and even better give them like 4 to 4.5 each tune to 33-35hz. Amp is easy with these subs they get loud off little so for head room get: Mb Quart onx1500 or the 1000. Audiopipe 1500d or hifonics 1200. Set the level cleanly and your good. very loud budget subs. -
Start with showing us what your alternator amp rating is, and the ratings on the battery. Do you have a place for a second battery if needed? This will let us figure out how many watts rms you can run efficiently, therefore what sub and amp to get.

If your running stock most likely you will once you hear how loud your bass will be. All this really depends on a lot more questions like Will you build your own box. What type of music do you listen to Whats your electrical like ALT, BATTS, etc and more...

For all your wiring i would look at knukonceptz great quality. For your highs do you want just a front stage or rear stage as well? What car? Look at infinity kappa, reference and JBL power components and match up with a good 4 channel like Mb quart onx, soundstream, ppi.

If you MUST buy a prefab try this one, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14600_Custom-Enclosures-12-Round-Hole-Long-Rear-Slot-Ported-Enclosure.html the tuning is a little high at 40hz i think but it has a nice net volume. If you listen to a variety of music this will do, those JL can play low under tuning as well they have a very strong design.

I personally would research a little more on the box size for that W7 12. I had a box laying around at 6.5 cubes net tuned to about 34hz and my buddy bought it from me for his pair of jl audio w7 12 on 2400rms. I had doubts at first but he really insisted on wanting it. He installed them and man o man have not heard better sounding subs yet than those w7 and that box absolutely destroyed with lows and with SQ. To get to the point i think you should ask around a forum that runs them a lot and if anything get a box with at least 2-2.75 cubes net each and tune low.

You will not hear a difference between the 5 and 10 but yeah i was also looking at that MB Quart but i like the size of the ppi's better for my setup. Research or post up a topic and see what kind of feedback you get on that mb quart but ive read mostly good things about it.

fairly new to car audio, need mids and highs.
teamace24 replied to velvetsmack's topic in Mid's and highs
Since your amp most likely being a boss puts out low wattage, you will need some high sensitivity efficient speakers. Infinity and JBL are very efficient speakers that get loud off little power, pioneer as well. For a great component set that gets loud and will let you get even louder when you upgrade your amp, look for JBL POWER SERIES 5.25 or 6.5 component set depending on your speaker size. Infinity kappa or reference series will do too. -
That ppi looks promising its just a newer line so not many people have judged it I also am thinking about trying it one day.

Brz. Had a 1600 and it compares evenly with my ap1500. No to hfi but gladiator no one has really tried them and reviewed them. They seem better than the hfi still though.

Just bought a pair of atomic quantum 15 from a shop (very low price) and was wondering if anybody has any info whatsover on these subs. I cant find much on them. Like what box specs do they like, what ohms, are they spl or all around? The bottom of the magnet doesnt give much info at all. Here they are: http://www.atomicspeakers.com/?pg=series_quamtum_15d
