Help selecting, can't find upon my own
larrys95civic replied to RooTxBeeR's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
do 1 15 obsidian and decent amp, team mate just got 2 obsidian 15's and I am very impressed -
Find out who the cops are and break into their cars! Just playin man, unfortunately welcome to the good ole USA where the rich get richer and those who defend they shit they worked their asses off for can have it taken. My Dad got sued when a guy broke into his bar, the alarm went off and when the cops showed up to arrest the asshole they tackled him and broke his arm. My Pops had to pay for his hospital bills since it happened on his property and insurance doesn't cover criminal intent.

Ok well quick update kinda....As a few already know I work for a mid sized retail electronics chain during the week. Well we recently got a new manager for our car audio division and well he's a decent dude but doesn't spend the time he should researching any other companies that just the ones we carry. Now with that said he came to me the other day wanting some ideas to help drive sales in our area. First thing I blurt out is demo vehicle and holy shit but the man thinks it's a good idea. I had to come up with 3 different options and the truck was 1 of them but it lost out. so this build will have to wait until summer. But the good news is well kinda good news I will be getting free subs for this build, Don't get me wrong I'm excited as all hell to get free stuff but what he could get are 10 Polk Audio DB10's. They have a 270 rms rating so after a few days of deliberation and drawing box specs on napkins I've decided to add 10 more out of my pocket. Also I'll be adding 2 more polk 1200.1's. Now they are the single 4ohm versions so with 5 subs on 4 amps I'll have a .8 load before rise. Now I have already decided to build this enclosure to handle much beefier subs in the future. Anyways I will be starting a new build thread for the ole retail hell explorer and the ole truck is going on the back burner for a bit.

Very cool man, Congrats! -
What a shit bag, that is all...

Also even if the amp is scope'd if your playing bass enhanced songs the song is probably clipping not the amp its self. I'm a little drunk so i hope this makes sense

Watching "Storage Wars" hoping they find bunch of dead bodies in a storage locker...

it's most likely your jet key, on your carb there will be a flat head screw, I'd take a pic of mine but they are all in storage for the winter. but if you pull that out and see a ring around the end that means it has been screwed in to far and it's messing up the fuel flow. Also the timing may be off, when these motors are built the timing is advanced a hair so the key won't fit back in, it's just torqued down heavily.

Well got started today by digging the poor girl out from all the crap thats been shoved around in and on top of her. Since I have my build all torn apart out of the Explorer now I dropped in 1 of my optimas and after dropping a little fuel in the carb she fired right up. Took a few laps around the block, I was super surprised she ran just fine. Will post more as I'm now sitting down to come up with a build plan.

Ok guys I have an 81 chevy long box just sitting in my garage. My Dad and I built it years ago but with wife, kids and working on everyone else rides the ole truck just sat in the garage and became a junk collector. Now the story behind it was my Dad wanted a sleeper hotrod. So we took an old beater with a 4 bolt main 350 and dropped about 10 grand in the motor, trans and drive train but left the body pure crap. Literally it has bullet holes in the bed. Anyways I'm sitting here staring at 4 rockford p3's and thinkin how cool to have a sleeper hotrod with some bad ass bass in it. I know I'll take a ton of shit for the outside appearance of the truck but thats what my Father wanted. He had really nice rods but was always afraid to just stomp the gas and have fun so this was his fun rod. Now for the pic. And please chime in on ideas, I want this thing to be original and fun like dad wanted. Got a list of parts on this thing a mile long so if you got questions about whats in it feel free to ask

Sucks man, if I lived closer I'd bring mine over to compare. -

Does this only happen on your test bench or on every set up? -
Did a build with 2 12" D3 series a guy ordered off ebay, think they were recones from factory if i remember correctly. Anyways they can take some power and sound clean. we did a ported, rear firing box in a grand prix with a rockford 1500bd-1. I'll try to dig up pics.

Have you tried setting the headunit level by just plugging the rca into the DD-1, I could be wrong but in the start did you set the level for the headunit volume from the amp? I don't have my manual in the house it's out in my car but i'd try to redo the head unit volume.
