  1. If you have to point out to him that his electrical is quite insufficient, don't you think a DC 7.5k is a little much for him to try to put on a pair of XL's? But really, less subs, less amplifiers, more electrical. Sorry didnt finish.. op do as many batterys as you can at least 3 - 3100s a good 270a alternator and multiple runs of 0g. I think 1 amp is easier to wire and 2 5ks is too much so 1 7.5 is perfect. I run 3k daily each to my xls off of 2 amps but I'm switching to 1 to see if I gain I never said I was getting a 7.5? I am getting one AQ 3500 HAHAHAHAHAHAH this is to funny it went from 4 to 8 2200 to 4 3500 to 1 3500 the car still wont last a year lmao excatly what i thought when i saw this
  2. 15-18 is a good area to aim for
  3. If 4 AQ2200D then XLs if 8 then level 5s That's ALOT of power, make sure you can drop the $$ for the electrical to back it up..
  4. that port doesnt give you much port area at 12 cubes less then 11 per cubic foot
  5. iyea i just read over it quick, and i think you edited in the last part as i was typing lol idk if you use torres or not but ill mess with that some and see if i can come up with anything
  6. the port height will be inner dimensions, so remember to take away the width of the wood on each side, so if your wall is 32.25" tall and you have one peice of 3/4" for top an bottom(just for example) take away that 1.5" and it gives you 30.75" port height. Edit, just saw you said inside dimensions..either way hope this helps iv done too many draw ups and forgot to do this^ lol
  7. correct. why so big??
  8. is that 16 cubes net volume??
  9. Bump, sub is up firing, port to the side. will be sitting on the backseat of a 4 door chevy colorado
  10. i know, and i completly agree. i dont slam this sub all day, shit not even a full song most of the time. reason i bumed this is cause i got this sub smellin bad, way to quick the other day. within less then half a song. it was a pretty low decaf song im thinkin about 30Hz. im just worried about damaging the sub over time really. and i do like my lows. so if i can figure it out and build a new enclosure with a low F3 point id do it
  11. BUT there is also cabin gain, rise, voltage drop, & other things that can change results. try the build & test, build & test, & build & test method. even tho building more boxes might be a pita its still cheaper than buying more equipment. Ooo wow I'm confused, is there a tried and true method to find out the F3 of your enclosure while it's in a vehicle? im curious about this too? all i know is i can get this sub stinky quick with a low song. im throwin a lil more then RMS at it but not that much.
  12. yes the Fs is 31.86Hz, from the DC website. "Fb is the tuning freq. F3 is the point that the box is down 3db from its peak. F3 is where the sub will just see a hole in the box and start to lose control. Very bad to play down here. A good design can get you a f3 point well below the tuning freq(fb) A bad or poor design can actually have the f3 point above the fb. Crazy huh. I know. And yes i see it all the time. This is where using winisd or bbp6 is far better than just a volume calc. Live and learn" Quoted from Ray So im guessing theres some formula to figure of the F3 point of a box?
  13. Hows this look for (1) SA-15D4 Ran @ 2ohm on a Alpine PDX-M12? Can anyone Explain to me how to find the F3 point of a box?
  14. Dont mean to thread jack.. Hows the 18? Loud? i should have bought it Glad to hear it man! /thread jack
  15. How do you find the F3 Point of a box ray? i got my XL realll stinky the other day playin a low ass song, atleast below tuning witch is(i think) around 32, like stunk the whole tahoe out lol. im runnin a T2500BDCP @ 2 0hms on it now.
