  5. im planning on upgrading the alts in the future to 200 amps each. thats why i am going to use the 0 gauge
  6. im goign to use 0 gauge for the alt to bat lead. im using 2 alts and running 1 to the front battery and the 2nd to the rear batteries. whet my question is, is what size fuse fuse to use in the line going to the rear batteries. both atls are 140 amp for now.
  7. idk anything about that brand but you can get whole sets off ebay for like 40-50 bux. i got a set in my head lights and fogs for almost 2 years now and had no problems with them. they arent the "best" brands in the world but hey they work.
  8. need some advice on fusing. i am going to be running 2 , 140 alternators on my van. im just curious to know what size fuse i should put inline from the alternators to the batteries.
  9. deep water. im not getting in any water where where i cant feel or see the ground under me... FUK THAT AHHHHHHHHH
  10. id run the coupler and wrap it up really good with electrical tape to keep it from grounding out.
  11. well really it all depends on what you are competing in. if your going for spl comps then mids and highs are about useless. but if your going for show then theres a bunch of nice looking brands. my opinion components look better and carry more power than coaxials so thats the way id go.
  12. most ppl would tell you to get the most expensive ones you can. personally i say listen to a few brands b4 you buy and see what you like best. i mean there is a big difference between a pioneer mid/high than a sundown or something like that. theres also a difference in one brand between its series of components, which im sure you know already, but they can sound totally different. im doing my own build on a budget so im going for the "mid" grade brands and im using kickers and they sound pretty good and can take a little bit of power to.
  13. jeez no need to hate guys i was just wondering was all....
  14. id say its all a matter of opinion. some ppl like to keep it all the same and some dont care. personally i go for how the stuff sounds rather than just buying a brand name. btw i got 8 channels of old skool kicker highs/mids in my van and they sound pretty good with some power behind them.
  15. any1 out there know any1 looking to sponsor some one in the audio area? i've talked to quite a few companies and most of them damn near want blood from you just to get a "Discounted" price on their stuff. problem i got is the "discounted" price is still to damn high for my budget. i am planning on redoing my system and running it on the CHEAP. i got my amps and subs but a sponsored upgrade would be nice. the big thing i need some kind of help getting is a bigger alternator and batteries. any1 out there know of any1 that can help???????
  16. kicker makes a slim 8" midbass. im not entirely sure how thin but u might wanna try that.
  17. he shoulda bagged that bitch and made it drag the ground......just my opinion thow
  18. i got a question for ya steve, you know of any ways a newbie can get started out with a sponsorship? ive sent emails back and forth with a few companies and it seems like they want you to give blood just to get a low end sponsorship. im not looking to get into spl competitions just want to show off and have fun at car shows and stuff. any ideas or suggestions? by the way u got a sick ass tahoe
  19. yup i had the same problem with a DIN size pioneer signal processor. had no whine at all from the clarion H/U but as soon as i hooked up the processor it whined like a mufugger. ground the rca's it should work it did for mine.
  20. just be sure u leave some room between the amps so the bottom 1 gets air to cool the heat sink. i been there before and trust me u want that air around the bottom amp. mine got hot as hell from not doing it.
  21. ya ported is definately the way to go. you get more power slam out of a ported box than you do a sealed at the same power level. :hairtrick:
  22. the screaming chicken commercials were fuggin hilarious
