  1. Whats port width of current box? also, does the sub closer to the port move more or not insync? Using 5" wide port you are at about 4.5cuft after all displ. That should be the issue.
  2. You should put port in middle from top to bottom, if you do that change port walls to 2 As cvx mentioned, bracing tends to be under .2cuft unless you have large 45s try to get 8cuft+, 100sqin will be plenty if that helps
  3. Its called sandpaper and elbow grease.
  4. ^pretty much every kick drum on the entire mixtape looks like that... no bueno although I like KRIT, I'm not going to be playing these songs, just a bunch of thuds and not much rumble
  5. 140 is most protect circuits limit IIRC Raise the amp 1/4-1/2 off the mounting surface and get some air movement
  6. Ideally you want copper terminals because its far more conductive than brass, regardless of the gold on the outside. Remember for batteries its about surface area of the connection and cross-sectional area of wire, not whats on the outside Tinned copper lugs are tits (marine grade), corrosion resistant with the benefits of copper
  7. so when it asked you to locate the file and you selected the mp3 encoder it didn't help... weird
  8. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3
  9. I had the same issue of it just saving as a "file" with no extension at the end, If he does not add the extension at the end, it will not open up or be recognized as an MP3. I just exported without the file extension and this is what you are left with, . do you have the lame mp3 encoder library? I DO NOT have to add mp3 to get them to save correctly
  10. moot point if he doesn't have the lame library
  11. need lame mp3 encoder, when you download it and go to export it will ask for that files location
  12. i would start with an overdrive pulley first. its cheap and "easy" to switch out. the same engine can be used on a 150mph car as a plow tractor... its about how where you want the output. the stock alt is a tractor, tons of output but slow and tops out fast. HO alt is a corvette, its crazy from 0-60, but let it open wide til over 150mph and it will drop your jaw
  13. its not a bad alt. its not spinning fast enough. did your friend get an Overdrive pulley? slowing increase RPM til it reads the same 14.3-14.4... what RPM is needed to achieve that?
  14. anytime you play a song louder than the tone used to set gain you can/will clip the amp so you were playing songs at volume 22 and they were louder than -10dB. -5dB or 0dB should be fine for tweeters since usually they don't need much power as it is
  15. Also, do not use track 6(-10dB@1000hz)... reset with track 4(-5dB@1000hz) and you will clip less and should be less harsh on rock/metal
  16. since you have a 360 just run the sundown in full and let the 360 crossover at 24db slope the higher the slope the faster it filters out the unwanted frequencies. bass boost off/min. don't worry about Q because you aren't boosting. Q means how wide the boost curve is... the higher the number the more frequencies are affected by the boost
  17. nice. you should mention which awesome team we are on whos TL?>
  18. disregard it, i dont make anything.... if the mvh goes to 62 and you tested it clean to 58 then use 58. if you have speakers hooked up the the headunit then thats a different story, you can only go up as high as they sound good. you can use the dd-1 to test the headunits amp if you disconnect the speakers.
  19. If I remember the mvh goes up to volume 40. most newer pioneers that go to volume 62 are clean to volume 58-62 make sure you are not using no bass boost on the headunit either -5dB is quieter but safer -10dB is whats recommended for most users. if you play my crap you should use -5dB
  20. deal with it, its not needed at all. there are other issues causing low output and that will not solve the problem
