  1. Lower tuning means you are aiming for a higher DB score and want to compete?
  2. yup. His first few mixtapes were all great then I kinda got tired of him doing the stuff with Wayne and others. I hope he goes back to his old stuff.
  3. Likely...It's getting too hot and the internal thermal protection is kicking on, in turn powering the amp off. Amps can reach 150-190 degrees Farenheit and still stay on. So for it to go into protect, it would probably take a combination of heat and slight to moderate clipping. Are gains set with o-scope or do you know if your clipping or not? How long were you playing it for before it went into protect? This happened to my Sundown 125.2 because I was stupid and impatient and played it before I got my scope. Cut off on me once and that was all it took for me to wait it out. Scoped the amp and was clipping it slightly. Plus that was with 125 degree days with the heat index.
  4. Your peak frequency of your car will play a big role. If you tune to 32 and you peak at 32 you will hammer the 30 to 35 hz area, but may not be able to extend to the 50 hz range. I highly doubt you'll peak that low though. Do you know your cars peak? Also bigbody provides good info about his application and experience.
  5. I meant tuning to 30 Hz you should still be able to play into the 45 hz range, and possibly higher. I have never owned the sub but my friend had one off of my Alpine MRP-M1000 tuned to 32-33 Hz. It was a pretty loud setup for what it was( 1 12" off of ~1000 wRMS).
  6. Tuning to 30 you should still be able to get to 45 hz. Which is plenty to me b/c once you get to the 50 hz area it starts to sound like crap. Unless you build a box for pure SPL or listen to music other than rap, I see no reason to have your subs play into the 60's. I'll let my mids take over from there.
  7. What are you wanting in terms of power? What's the RMS rating for the amp per channel?
  8. Yeah audioque includes bass knobs with their amps. AQ amps have knobs with a clipping indicator that flashes red when a clipped signal happens.
  9. Send him a PM about "Audison LRx amps". His member name is also James so just type that in the member name spot. Or go to the For Sale section. He has them for sale in their under the title "Audison LRx amps". It should be on the first or second page. James is a great guy to deal with and answers all questions in a nice time frame.
  10. Thanks for posting that article. That is a NICE looking unit. Sexy as hell. 31 Band equalizer...lol. That's awesome.
  11. Already bought James Audison LRx 2.9 and installed yesterday. I guess I'm now a so-called "fanboy" of Audison. Hope to stay with Audison for some time. SQ is definitely there and a real clean looking amp. James is still selling his Audison LRx 1.1k for I believe $475 shipped. Retails for around $900. Being used by him, it probably might as well as be listed as brand new. Good luck, and nice looking setup.
  12. I love my iraggi will always use them as long as their available and Dom is making them. Try calling them but good luck his customer service is severely lacking. He's retooling and working behind the scenes, causing problems with customers. Give DC Power or mechman a call if Iraggi is unavailable.
  13. That's surprising that your alt can't handle that amp. Definitely get your electrical sorted out. Also AQ makes nice amps. I have heard good things about them, there also is a few people specifically using the 3500 s maybe they will put their 2 cents in. Good luck.
  14. Few my ass haha. Isn't it like 20? I second XS Power. One of the best investments I made.
  15. Sorry haha. I think you'd be good with 34-36 Hz. To be honest the loudest Decaf songs seem to be 32-36 Hz as far as dB recording. I thought it would be great to play low 30's and high 20's, but I can't play songs that suck even if they are loud(Soulja Boy, etc) After building my box and making the play list, none of the songs were below 32 Hz. lol. I think you will like the 35 area, though, to not lose much output and still play low.
  16. Had one XL 18 tuned to 32 Hz. 6.85 cubes and it played effectively from 30-46ish Hz. Also the port was too close to the hatch. When messing around with placement it sounded good up to 48-50 Hz. I have a design being made for 2 XL's walled tuned around 35 Hz.
  17. Was the cone or dustcap being touched when reading from the DMM?
  18. Alpine MRP M1000 for 200 shipped. Is that too much power/money?
  19. I have always thought your car looks like it would be strong, with or without deadening. Nice vids. Do you know when your going to be getting a score with the new amps? Also, yeah...your definitely in Nebraska by the looks of it.
  20. Do you have a guesstimate of what kind of power the DC XL was seeing? Also I was hesitant to open the thread with that title...
