  1. i hate to sound stupid but what exactly is unloading? is that like bottoming out?
  2. it's not very big but it will charge a battery. my blazer only has a 105 amp in it right now.
  3. should fit a 2000 - 2005 4.3 vortec motor. i just ordered a 200A this week or i would totally buy it... the coil looks like it's in great condition.
  4. i don't understand why your alternator wouldn't charge an optima... who told you this?
  5. so after you run it from the + & - in the front to the + & - in the back... just run those straight to the amp pretty much like a capacitor? sounds easy enough... just get another pair of aftermarket battery terminals?
  6. see thats where i get confused @. currently i'm running a single 12 & a lot of the prefab boxes have a 1.75 inch diameter port & i'm looking to go for no port noise on a 12 box
  7. I was just curious what size ports are on the edge of too small (to the point where port noise is a serious factor) for both round & slot ports. i tried to search this topic but mainly came up with port tuning instead of port noise.
  8. depends on what's in there right now & how much he will be pulling. might be fine, might not be. what size is in there & how much power is he going to pull? you should always use cable rated for the load you are trying to pull both + & - . you don't want to starve the amp for power or risk overloading an undersized cable.
  9. I never put a meter on my aftermarket terminal but I'll tell you this... it's a hell of a lot easier to add some cables to an aftermarket than a stock terminal.
  10. this build is really coming together, lookin' good. p.s. that's a gross amount of cable
  11. he does look a lot like the cartoon. same square shaped head with same pointed jaw line & nose. he's got them ears too lol (just noticed that) Riley's eyebrows always make him looked pissed off though
  12. great in the rain, not so much in the winter though. funny story... a friend of mine locked his keys in his jeep. he suggested we make a slimjim but had no stips of metal. I looked at his wipers & said, "well there's a strip in your wiper". long story short... all we had was a pair of lineman's & one of his rain X wipers. I popped that door in 2 minutes
  13. WOW namosh... Thats a pretty impressive list. i have to agree, it's like they've completely ran out of ideas these days... they just keep remaking movies & people keep paying to see them like they are new.
  14. beatin' down the block was decent minus the keyboard/synth. bass was deep & i like the snare
  15. Mine is currently dipping into the mid to high 11's (on a stock alternator), but in that thread some were saying they've gotten it to dip to 8 volts. I plan to get a 200AMP Iraggi in a week or 2, so I am curious how badly the stock one is being beat on. I burned out a stock one last week but i have no clue what the voltage was reading. it did however shut the vehicle down yet the battery was still strong enough to power the stereo & attempt to crank the motor but not start. I found a temporary replacement until i get the HO & it fired right back up. I might pull the gain back a bit to reduce the power demand until I get the new one.
  16. I was reading a thread about voltage drops and damaging amps, when i thought to myself... what do these type of drops do to your alternator (both stock & HO)? I would imagine it would try to keep up with the demand but at what cost? what effect does this have on the voltage regulator?
