  1. purchased an Alpine CDA-9886. very well packaged, very good ship time, very nice guy. I would recommend buying from him.
  2. she's in a better place....it definately wasn't HOW we were expecting it, but yeah, im not hear to have ppl feel sorry for me in a thread that isn't mine if you ever need someone to talk to, u can always find me (or someone else on here, im sure just about everybody is willing to listen) because it's hard man, sometimes you just gotta reach out and see who will grab your hand, u know?
  3. damn man, sorry to hear about your mom, i lost my sister earlier this year, sucks u got gypped too....i've learned from other people's experiences to just send some extra money instead of gifting it, or at least not the full amount, so far ive only gifted like $11 (with hundreds of dollars of stuff purchased). Live and learn i suppose.
  4. i think id ship the amp both ways to get it done and done right, even upgraded since ud be using newer/better parts than what it came with and maybe up the wire size to accept 4ga?
  5. Ok, so after trying to set my gains on my DC 2k, i realized i hate hearing the constant buzzing of my 6.5's and 6x9's playing 40htz...would u guys recommend me getting a decent 2 channel amp or something? (I came to this realization when i couldnt get some lights to turn on on my DD-1, if anybody knows when an Alpine CDE-123 distorts, it'd be much appreciated) P.s. i did send an email to them about it, this isnt so much about the DD-1, im just wondering if i should get another amp...i dont plan on keeping the car for too much longer...and maybe some suggestions for 2 or 4 channel amps is appreciated thanks, Alex
  6. Anything on this yet? Its been quite some time since this has been updated
  7. well, an amp with that for a power rating helps and a good electrical, they higher ur voltage can stay, they better, most people cant seen to get away with running 2krms daily without an upgraded alt/battery, and big 3, id recommend both im a little overkill on my alt and battery i think, but oh well lol.
  8. ive kinda had the whole black with a chrome lip thing in my head for a while now
  9. two level 2 12's and what options for handling 1k each (estimated (before rise)) to 54758 unless its cheaper to do lvl 3 12's Thanks, Alex
  10. i can get a little old kenwood amp from a guy i work with (powers on but no output) i think would be nice for a little starter system for a friend of mine or for my gf or something depending on prices i might be interested in getting it and having u fix it up assuming u can make it work
  11. and a minimum of 18v (from what ive heard) to even be close to adequately charging 16v batteries, ur better off sticking with 12v batteries
  12. go ahead and charge up both batts, its not a permanent solution but i dnt see how it'd hurt to keep em topped off, otherwise id suggest if u have a smaller amp laying around to just use that for now...idk, less to worry about for voltage issues if u run a smaller amp
  13. doing the big 3 isnt intended to gain voltage...proper charge batts techinically help raise voltage (less work for the alt) caps take in energy while they try to charge, which is a big strain on ur alt. the big 3 is to help increase the amount of amperage to go from ur alt to ur battery, some people get some voltage gain at idle, but not every vehicle will get the same results.
  14. I've heard good things about both...its about what u want dude
  15. poor guy not understanding the rules no vs threads, try asking for pros and cons of each instead of putting head to head...its all about what u want, lots of people are biased about different brands
  16. thats what they're rated for, thay may do more, they may not, the actual ratings of it can very from amp to amp and set-up to set-up
  17. ive only seen one power acoustik amp that actually made sense on the power ratings...u might not be getting 1300 watts from that amp :/ and i havent heard of underpowering them hurts them, as long as ur not clipping, it shouldnt matter much if u run 200 watts to each or 1200 watts to each, as long as ur not clipping, it shouldnt hurt them
  18. i have an HP laptop, it sais Pavilion dv6 in the top right corner, it has beats audio and AMD processor/graphics card in it, it does Diablo 3 more or less with ease, but it does get warm, but i got it in October for like $800ish, im not really knowlegable when it comes to computers lol but i looked for an I7 processor, and as much ram as i could afford, idk, im sure somebody here has better recommendations though, good luck with the hunt
  19. i guess i would still recommend underpowering them for now to prevent any real worries about how much ur drawing....just my .02
  20. NO! if he is not willing to upgrade his electrical for 1500w why would you suggest an amp with more draw? The only answer here is your electrical will need to be able to back you over powering the subs plain and simple. i was just saying. big 3 should be able to run this without crazy pull. a friend of mine has and his volts to seem to bad. anyways sorryi overlooked the not upgrading. must not be a real 2000w amp then. all the big 3 does is decrease resistance in the charging system and makes current easier to flow about. it doesn't do anything else besides that. you act like it performs fucking miracles. when i did the big 3 in my car...everybody within 5 miles was cured of cancer....
  21. why not just get a 800 watt amp or something and save urself a headache??? if u dnt wanna upgrade the electrical in what ur driving now, why bash ur head against the wall for something thats only temporary???
