Clipping is most of the time the problem but if you have a sub like Fi BTL and a 200wrms amp clip the shit out of it the sub will not blow but your amp will. But if you have 2000wrms amp and send clipped signal to your sub that is a different story.

That is a myth when you barely have your stereo on the sub is not recieving X ammount of watts. Probably only like 50-100
