2 15 XL s the XL is one of the best subs out right now and you can get them CHEAP! like 300 used and not much more new. Thats with shipping, and then grab a 3k amp and your good to go. The XL is great for SPL and sounds excellent as well. Will kill the lows in the right box! similar to the BTL/Nightshade/DD9500 but with a lower pricetag!

you just gotta cut a square piece of cardboard to see what you can fit in there, or a couple small ones and tape them together. Get the height to. with 30 inches long you should be able to come up with a nice sized box!

My next box will be sub up port side, with a straight port, L-ports are def FTL!!!! And I will have a 13.5 by like 6" port I will slide 4 pieces of mdf in there and bolt them to one side and be able to remove any amount of them that I want So My box will have verying port area, as the port area gets bigger the MDF pieces get shorter for higher tuning so I can pinpoint my peak SPL, they also decrease in length so it does create the L-port effect, heres a little draw up! Now in the pic the shortest wall will actually be 2/3 the size of the largest So I canput 4 bolts through the corners and it will be strong enough....

Yo man in blazers sub up port to drivers side is best, port back is good also but if you want those aeros to fit or if u dont want to bend your port which straight ports are always the best (better airflow then L-ports)then go with that, hopefully its not to late to plan ur box like this...

Get the XL, I cant see the lvl 4 being louder then the XL even underpowered by a couple hundred watts, the XL imo is one of the top subs out right now, I mean theres guys hitting 175 db's with em, beating dd99z's and they sound the best among all the super subs (btl's, dd's, HDC3, etc.)

dude get an xL you can find them for $300 shipped you can get an 2k amp for $200 on ebay that will make rated power! you can get a cheap amp kit at walmart for your speaker wire (get an 8awg amp kit and use 8 awg for speaker wire lol) and rcas and then get a 15-20 ft piece of 0 awg in the classifieds, i see them daily for $20-30 there you have a monster ass 150 db setup (if ur a box buildin beast) for under $600 luckily my 15" XL will end up costing $150 total so my setup will be about $400 with wires and box.... i know I can get 1500-2k out of my stock electrical, I'll just turn it down if I get dimming for under 12 volts...

I will be putting 2k on mine soon once i can afford my recone kit (dam car repair costs) its in 3.5 cubes i got my stock alt decent for a stock and I plan on doing big 3 and a small battery (SHURiKEN SK-BT35 or an hc 600) in the back, and maybe a cheap ebay HO alternator upgrade. They have them for like $125 for blazers, and Im talkin 200 amp not no dinky 140's that arnt even worth it to upgrade (unless you have a 75 amp alt in which case GTFO!) lol Anyone have input on the SHURiKEN SK-BT35 vs. the hc 600 there both $100 from sonix. and will that hold up to 2-3k w/o the HO alt or will I Need a bigger battery?

Thanks for the advice guys, they gotta use different glue for the spider landing/ surrround landing cause the foam surround came clean with acetone, the spider landing I had to use a flat scraper and hammer then sanded by hand to get it about %60 bare metal but its completely smooth so it should work fine, I got pics but am just going to post them in my build log once I get my recone and box built...

Yes I agree. Now the recone should come with the coil spiders and cone pre-glued correct? I was quoted $XXX shipped for the recone, that seemed spendy to me but i've never bought a recone before? Any anyone know how much a new basket is just out of curiousity?
