no i designed the box from specs in calc. then pulled the front plate .75" forward. i read the help notes on ur thing before posting this this was just a precationary measure changed the # of port walls to 3 dropped the tuning to 32.57 and the port per in^2 to 23.02. is this to much port area? if so took me 5 min to make this box design on sketchup. ill just work on getting closer to 16 per sq. in. E: changed the length to 30 and width to 3.75 on port and changed the tuning to almost 34Hz dead on and 16.47 Cu. In. damn forgot to take into affect that the net volume went to 3.5 XD is that bad for a p3? cuz sonicelectronics recomends no smaller or bigger then 2.66 n i always though 3.5 was wat the average 15 needed

is this box a big no? or would it work n sound good for a 15" RF P3 sonic says 2.66 max for ported enclosure.

ok so in the # of common port walls if im making a "L" port for a single 15 would that be 3 common walls? or would it be 4 second, when i put it into the length where it turns would that be included in the "port length" too? E/ and can you have to much port area? XD

To clarify, not looking for knock off brand garbage. Just an older head unit from a reputable brand for around 150-200. For instance I used to have an old avh5700dvd I picked up for 200 and absolutely loved it.

Im planning on buying a decent project car that I can work on for the rest of my life n always have something new to do. i was wondering what a nice project car would be... i like tuners, i need something that has alot of aftermarket parts unlike my alero -.- gimme some ideas guys ^^ nissan 240sx was my first plan one was for sale for 750$ but i was out of the country so i couldn't get a hold of it :/

really??? after a while it all sounds the same i guess... like the white girl beat hit hard but it's only 2 different notes playing like 1 is a i wanna say maybe 50-70hz note and the other must be 20-40hz at most. and on the lower beat it makes my phone on the roof do flips but when i'm in the car you hear air and feel it a little. my goal is to have my seats feel like there kicking me in the back, and look over to the passenger seat and it look like a rocking chair. what is the best frequency for that??? build a box tuned to 33-34 hz n u should be good for whatever

Lol Everyone learns. i wouldnt be a dick if he was some noob that was just getting into the game. we were all there at some point. but like this guy works at a shop and is making money installing systems for people. he should know these basic questions if he is professionally installing stuff in paying customers cars. like he obviously doesnt know what clipping is and thinks tuning the box is turning a dial on the amp. i want to know where this guy works so we can save the company money from having all the customers coming back in with warranty claims. and for people who dont buy warranty to not get an install from this guy. the questions this guy is asking as installer is scaring me. Agree, but hopefully the more questions we answer the better/ less scary he will get. I would love to have his job tho. did he say he was an installer? or is he a floor man n just sells things to people

What do you mean when you say clip to shit meaning the amp giving the subs to much power of not enough to do what i'm looking for or messing around with the bass boost. I asked kinda new to it i haven't had a bass amp clip on me in some years but i knew it couldn't power the subs so i wasn't surprised. what audioshop do u work at so i can take ur job -.- anyways build ur own box tuned to what u like id say 33-34 Hz i like mine low ^^ prolly take about 2 sheets of 3/4" mdf and lots of people on this site can design u a box. if u have an suv i already have 1 designed i can link to u if it fits i own a vw jetta wagon is that good spacious enough from your design??? pmed u just get the dimensions at work tomorrow. while the back hatch is closed.

u can always do a fiberglass box for less weight.

putting all that in threw it down to 35.28 Hz and 7.8 Cuft. the extra baffle just makes it 20.75 inches tall so it wont ruin the tuning at all EDIT: and they aren't no amazing subs they r like 500 rms or something so i dont think ill need a whole lota bracing just a few wooden dowls here n there

ive already been through that entire build i look at ALOT of builds on here. what kind of batts/wire should i go with? like brand. XS power batts and Knukonceptz wire?

ok well i can get a sheet of 3/4 mdf for 10 bucks from a friend so box building wont be a problem. i have sooo many ideas for my alero i dont even know where to start. but if u guys are saying ima need lots of power thats where ill start. alts n batts n wires will be the first part of the project. o yea... its a 2000 old alero gls coupe. ive had 4 10" jls running off 2 alpine mrp-m500s and hit a 138.xx that was in the 1000 watts or less out of a trunk. something me n my friend threw together over night. got second place though so not bad

how hard is it to do a 150 out of the trunk? sealed with 2 15s. getting a new ride throwing a nice SQ system in it and turning my alero into a comp car i would wall but the alero is in my dads name so the closest thing to a wall i could do is sealed at the trunk. he would kill me if i walled it lol
