  1. Yes you can use a D4 coil -- does yours have bolted down spider ? If so you will also need a new frame... unless you want to spent 3 hours getting the ring off Frame + Re-cone is $40 + SH
  2. Tomorrow is the last day for September sale prices. Pre-Orders will continue, though.
  3. This truck + More Power = Hank having no roof... IMO.
  4. They can be built now. I am not a huge fan of using the 8" landing on a high throw 10" woofer on the 12-spoke frame - but it can be done and so far people have been happy with them.
  5. Yes -- it is stable 2 ohms bridged. Actual tested - factory supplied figures @ 13.8v : 210x4 at 4 ohms 350x4 at 2 ohms 465x4 at 1 ohm 665x2 at 4 ohms 925x2 at 2 ohms
  6. He cannot bottom the coil against the back plate -- which is the standard definition of bottoming out. Would require 62.5mm one-way to bottom the coil -- which is impossible The "bottoming" your friend is hearing is the spider reaching limitation but there is no physical coil contact with the back plate.
  7. I am not planning any woofer sales besides pre-orders any time soon.
  8. Very very close to the SAZ-1000D.
  9. He linked our video of testing them before shipment -- we have a 1500D on them wide open.
  10. Probably clipping your amp since it's low power and these are pretty stiff and/or you hearing air noise from the frame vents. If they are brand new subs they are tested very thoroughly. Who on earth told you the spiders are noisy and slappy ? Not only do they have flat leads that cannot slap the cone but the spiders are permanently laminated together so can't make any rubbing sounds between the layers. That is one of the silliest things I've "heard" online in a while. Also... the spiders are mostly Nomex composition.
  11. Bumping this up for some views ! Great compact bass option here.
  12. Yessir... I really like this box... most efficient one I've had now and musical tune. Can't lose there!
  13. Too bad I'm not legal in Street classes with no rear seats or I have a feeling this would be a great setup for Street-C especially if I could ever get it to peak higher than 47 Hz
  14. Dropped some Z v.2 in there with 1 spider each... 153.5 dB on 2770 watts on my clamp. Now... to see how that scales up with more power
  15. That is the latest update I have.
  16. Don't forget that the SA-8 is also one of the few 8s that is re-coneable so if you do get a bit crazy with it, you can get parts You can also take advantage of new soft part upgrades as they become available on re-cones!
  17. Indeed... some of our dealers are doing a better job at answering customer questions these days, so that will be a help. We are in between right now -- it's going to be another year or two before I consider us even a "mid size" company. This year has really been a game changer in growth for us... it's been very challenging to meet all the new demands but so far we are doing alright and the overwhelming majority of customers are satisfied
  18. We offer automated online ordering for dealers -- so they don't have to call us to order. Most of them use this system and it's MUCH easier as not only can they double check their order on the screen but we have a printed computerized record so there is no confusion -- I find that more accurate than phone ordering. We also have forums, emails, and Facebook for people to contact us -- so it's not as if people cannot reach us by any means, phone is just the worst possible way. As for having "someone" answer phones at minimum wage... if they have no idea what they are talking about, IMO, it's worse than nobody answering the phone if they simply confuse the customer. I only have so much time in a day as the owner, product engineer, inventory manager, etc. I simply cannot sit on the phone all day when customers expect me to email them, take their orders, and ship their orders in a timely fashion. If some absolutely HAS TO talk to me on the phone they can... but it should be the last choice. People can ALWAYS reach me by email, forums, and Facebook which I can answer as I have time to sit and think about a response. If I'm on the phone and doing other work my full attention cannot be dedicated to responding to the customer and taking care of them... again, making it a poor way to really talk to us / me. We are growing and I am working on it -- for now phone is the WORST way to contact us. I am working on expanding our facility and staff next year to handle the increased contact volume but it takes time.
  19. Unfortunately only a small percentage of my customers speak Spanish *laughs* So that may not work out!
